My wife and I, both 35, will be going to Vegas next week (6/12-6/15) for the first time (just the 2 of us). We will be booking Hotel+Flight+ShowTix this weekend and other than internet research and purchasing the Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas, which I plan to read tomorrow, we don't know yet where we're staying or what we're doing. We plan to arrive on the 12th and leave on the 15th. If you had to recommend to us 1 show (or possibly 2) to see, what would it be? Also, if anyone has a recommended itinerary for us, please share that as well. Our only real must-see/must-dos are the strip and a tour of Hoover Dam. Other than that, we're pretty much open to anything. Neither of us are big gamblers and only plan to play some slots and video poker. Thanks in advance!

One of the Circus de Soele (spelling is way off) shows. Other than that....I agree with jason about people watching. You should also go to the Double Down bar. Don't wear nice clothes or look at any of the patrons directly in the eyes.

I've only seen one show and that was Love and I can't recommend it enough. Not something I thought I would really be into but it was really entertaining.

I'd see something unique if possible, some celebrity that would be a once in a lifetime thing.
I saw the Blue Man Group when I was there earlier this year, and enjoyed it. Don't pay for the Legends show at Harrahs.

Believe me, I would if there was going to be one there.

I hate the whole damn tipping thing cuz you need to carry around a bunch of small bills (unless you're rich and can blow $20 on every tip). So, do you recommend I just get a bunch of ones/fives and then neatly fold them before I go. Then, just shove a bunch in my pocket each day?

I think I just missed Barry Manilow when I was there.
A good friend saw Wayne Newton, and ended up getting into a running dialogue with him throughout the show, and getting a bottle of champagne from him.
And while I'm not a Manilow or Newton fan, those would at least be cool stories to pass on to the grandkids.
Looks like Copperfield is in town the week you'll be there.

Go to your credit union and get 2$ denomination. Also, I reside here and have never seen any of those people. Elton John had a great residency at the Colosseum.

Find a doorman or promotions guy by an entrance to Harrah's and get a coupon for 2-4-1 tickets to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show matinee. Best $26 total you'll spend for an amazing show and two drinks. I've seen it every time I've been in Vegas and Mac brought my wife and me up on stage last summer to help with one of his tricks.

I saw Frank Sinatra, from the front row at the old D.I. While I didn't have a "running conversation" with him, the fact that I was at the dead center table in the front row, was enough for me...
