Favorite "Band of Brothers" episode?
Apologies if something like this has been posted in the past, but I did a search and didn't find anything back to 2005. I just finished watching my Blu-ray set of Band of Brothers. Every single episode. In a day. Phew! Anyway, I pretty much still think that Episode 7 - "The Breaking Point" is the best of the bunch, and I was curious to see what others thought. So what's your favorite episode of Band of Brothers?
Also, can't wait for The Pacific coming in 2010!

I'm currently watching this via netflix. I seen most of the episodes hear and there on the history channel though. It would hard for me to pick just one episode. The episodes are split more for convenience than actually needing to be split. If you ran them all back to back without the lead ins or credits I wouldn't be able to tell where one episode ended and the next began. It is really just one long story.

I had a very hard time picking between "Bastogne" and "The Breaking Point." In my mind, I've always lumped those two together as one big, giant, absolutely perfect two-hour movie. In fact, I would put those two hours up against just about any movie.

"Day of Days." I love that the tactical maneuvers that Easy Company used to take out the German guns are still taught today and that I get to see them "in action." It's just great emotional drama with intense action.

I haven't seen the show forever, so the episodes kind of all run into one in my mind. The one that sticks in my memory the most and had the biggest impact was the one where they arrived at the concentration camp.

I'm with Dino88...haven't watched them all in awhile, so they sort of blend together in my mind. One sticks out in particular, though, and features many scenes in a snowy forest of some sort. Ring any bells?

The whole series was on History channel last Friday in a one day marathon. I still get choked up when I watch it even though i've seen it about 5 times already. It's hard to pick just one episode as a favorite but I picked Bastogne with Carentan as a close second.

I believe that was the one that focused on the medic, is that right? Of course I don't know the episode, but that might help someone else with a name.

I can't remember the specific episodes even though I only watched it for the first time a few months ago. Fantastic series, and a definite blind buy (especially on Blu-ray).

Crossroads and Bastogne are the eps you're thinking about. They both dealt with the Battle of the Bulge. The former focussed on the medic. In the latter, Donnie Wahlberg's charcter was the focus (it was also the ep where half the cast we're killed/permanently maimed/transferred out).

Re: Favorite "Band of Brothers" episode?
^ Correct.
"Bastogne" focuses on Eugene "Doc" Rowe, the medic.
"The Breaking Point" is the one narrated by Sgt. Carwood Lipton, with the assault on the town at the end. It's basically about leadership, what makes a good leader a good one, and why the bad ones are bad. It's my favorite because I think it, more than any of the other episodes, shows some of the hell the soldiers went through and the loss they suffered. It starts of with that hellish artillery bombardment in the woods, then goes on to the badass assault on the town where Dyke completely chokes, Spiers shows what a true soldier and leader is by running through the middle of the enemy to link up with another company, then runs back, and finally ends with the moving scene in the convent where they show some of the people they lost during the fighting.

Bastogne and Breaking are a pair in my mind, I love those eps. That scene with Spiers gave me chills that a man truly did that. (As a side, why wasnt he interviewed for the series?) This series was gold and I doubt pacific will live up to it.
Shit I need the bluray.
