fye has nada.

last few weeks, ive been selective in which stores to visit due to the lack of exclusives and work and being lazy and so on and so on. seems this dry spell will continue in the immediate future. i checked the pre-order book at fye and the only listed exclusive was a free tote bag with pre-order for coraline

Next week's comparison thread started, I think I'm going to go to monthly threads for exclusives. Any thoughts?

Might be a good idea for now since it seems pretty slow for exclusives.. We're you planning to go back to weekly later when it starts to pick up?

The way we used to do it was just one thread with individual posts for the weekly chart of exclusives. That one thread would just get bumped at least once a week. To be honest, I forget the reason why we went to weekly threads.

Now the new release price comparisons, those definitely benefit by weekly threads I guess.

Just brainstorming. But I'm leaning towards keeping them separate. The exclusives/freebies threads, while they do help anyone who shops B&M in making purchase decisions, are more for those of us that are collectors. That's pretty much true, right? So for us (less and less me, but I'm still hooked on them a bit), one thread, monthly threads, or weekly threads probably wouldn't make much a difference. I'm thinking the less the better. Less would definitely be easier for me, and perhaps for all of us (fewer threads to keep track of; more data in one place).

if you are considering trimming the fat on the exclusives thread a bit, how about doing what it was before - all in one thread that was bumped each week? at least for now while the exclusives are virtually nil. because if you make a monthly thread, how will that work in terms of actual day and dates falling into this month or the next month? or have you considered this already?

If monthly, I was going to title them something like "All exclusives/freebies - May 31st 2009 to July 4th, 2009". That would have covered all the June Tuesday release days, the next thread would be July 5th thru August 1st, etc.

But I think we'll just go back to one thread, updated weekly, unless people think otherwise would be better.
