I kept the poll open until Tuesday at this time. Hopefully all the 4 day weekenders who want to vote will see this in time. Interesting that each of the top 4 games made it.

Rock Band 2 - This was tough, could've gone either way for me.
Goldeneye - I'm still pissed about COD4 getting snubbed.
Super Mario 3 - This will be the champion.
Bioshock - Best FPS of the this generation hands down.

How can Super Mario Bros 3 be beating Super Mario World. World is a better game on every conceivable level.

I always felt the gameplay in Mario World had already been done in Mario 3. The overhead map, the new powerups, the different worlds.

What orangecrush said. SMW perfected everything Mario 3 introduced. It felt like a more polished experience. Plus you have all the cool 16-bit gimmicks and the introduction of Yoshi.

It's 'favorite', not 'best'. I was more into 3 than World. Hated Yoshi too.

Yeah, I didn't really care for Yoshi either. I think the memories of finding warp whistles, toad houses, and The Wizard all make Mario 3 a more memorable experience

The Wizard helped too...or did it hurt it.

Either way, if we only voted on 'best' then there's no way that arguably the two greatest games of the fourth generation (Zelda: Link to the Past and Super Metroid) would lose to a party game and a puzzle game.

Re: "Favorite" Video Game Tournament ROUND #4 - Elite 8

A Link to the Past and Super Metroid both knocked out in the same round? Damn that is brutal.

Tetris - I don't like party games like Rock Band.
Played both these games, but don't care about either one.
Mario 3 - World was a breeze. 3 was challenging.
Legend of Zelda - Bioshock to me is just a poor man's Deus Ex... decent game, but pales in comparison to Deus Ex. Zelda was just awesome and still very fun to this day.

If Rock Band 2 is so great, why did it lose EA millions and millions of dollars?

That alone makes it pretty awesome.

I voted:

Tetris
GoldenEye
Super Mario World
Bioshock

I guess Fallout 3 lost? That sucks.

I'm going to have to try this game again. I couldn't get into it, and FPSs are my favorite.

It's good, but it has no business still being in this mix. It wasn't even the best game of its year (Super Mario Galaxy).

Call of Duty 4 is by far the best first person shooter of all-time.

Multi-player yes. Single player no. Bioshock was original both in story and in art design. Plus plasmids and a nice array of weapons really made for a complete experience. COD4 is awesome no doubt. But most of what it did only perfected what had been done before. Not a bad thing but Bioshock brought a lot of new elements to the genre.

I'd still give the edge to Half Life 2 over Bioshock. While Bioshock was quality through and through, it didn't have the variety of locals and the sense of progression that HL2 did. Heck, I'd put System Shock ahead of Bioshock.
