[REC]---July 14, 2009
Like this better than Quarantine because of Manuela Velasco. Hope the Making of Featurette is the 40 minute version from the R2 release.

I haven't seen [REC] yet (but looking forward to it and this is good news) so I can't make a direct comparison, but enjoyed Quarantine.

Quarantine is much better than {REC] . Having said that [REC] is still a really good horror film and I am glad I got the R2 edition which has much better bonus features.

Liked both for different reasons. Quarantine for the more updated look and effects but REC was good for its more low budget feel.

Agree with KillerCannibal, a little bummed there is no BD for this. The current [REC] Blu-Ray (Import) is Region Locked I believe.
I'll probably pass on this release. Already have the 2-Disc R2 I picked up last year.

Always wanted to see this, but pretty pissed about no Blu. Quarantine (Blu-Ray) is buried in one of my unwatched piles, so hopefully I'll get to see Rec before watching Quarintine.

Good that its finally getting a release over here. I doubt I'll upgrade my Canadian release that I got for free from a Fango contest though.

That's all i've heard around here as well, but the problem is this is a forum dominated by people who hold biases against remakes which is something I don't do. I doubt very seriously that I will like [Rec] better than Quarantine, but I'll find out once July 14 rolls around.

Hopefully [REC] isn't to Quarantine as Ringu was to The Ring.
Despite what everyone said on the internets, Ringu was complete and utter shit compared to The Ring.

^ Agree. The Ring was much better than Ringu.
^^ I don't think that many people here are anti-remake. Well, maybe we are. But shouldn't we be? You have to admit that many of them flat out suck. Name 10 remakes that are even close to as good as the original. But a few are as good or better, ala The Ring.
