Just got home from a few blockbusters, and they have some great delas going on. Their $9.99 movies are 2 for 10, and they have tons of clearance $3.99 and $1.99 movies. Here’s what i picked up.

When i was there the guy had just put out about 200 3.99 movies, and said he was gonna bring out more, and the same thing happened at another blockbuster they had piles and piles of movies, and used games. So it's quite possible somethings cooking up

seeing the same thing in my area. I am now cautious about getting any PVDs - I simply cannot sell them anymore at any price to anyone. Once a DVD gets to be $4.99 and under used, the resale value disappears. At least that is how it is appearing to me.

I had a stack of about a dozen titles I was going to buy, but when I did a last minute spot check to see if the discs were in decent shape, nearly all of them were scratched beyond belief.

They have 20 zillion copies of Nim's Island and Spiderwick Chronicles. Are they supposed to hang onto all of them at $14.99 ea.? My g/f and I are holding off on 2/$10 in hopes of titles like The Bank Job dropping another buck. I've bought about 12-15 titles at $4 a pop that I wouldn't have bothered with for a dollar more. Can't wait for tomorrow's 2/$25 used BD sale, though I'm loathe to pay even that much for BDs. (I scored 18 BDs for about $100 from a Gamestop during their B2G4 blowout and after paying ~$6.30 ea., it sucks to pay more.)

not sure about the other titles, but at the BB i was in today that and newer titles were 2 for 20 and they had a billion of them it seemed.

Went to the Novato, CA BBV and they had an alright selection by the registers.
I was going to pick up a copy of the Funny Games remake, but the only copy that was there had a hole through the artwork.
Also as others have reported, the store also had a $3.99 filled with a lot of good titles. Saw American Ninja on the table, but I already have it :)

In the past week, I've gotten: Giant (2-disc), The French Connection (5 Star Coll.), A Day at the Races, The Ice Pirates, Hard Boiled, Jabberwocky, Comedian (Jerry Seinfeld doc, only $2!), Gundress, Saber Marionette R, Robot Stories, Redbelt, Dream of a Warrior, and Alias S1.
My g/f got: Purple Butterfly, Izo, Picture Bride, Vital, Tony Takitani, Drink-Drank-Drunk, The Maid, The Last Supper, Art of the Devil 2, and Stratosphere Girl.
22 movies + 1 TV set for $90. Not bad.

I picked up a like new copy of "I Married a Monster From Outer Space" for $3.99 this afternoon - good find, since it seems to be OOP.
I also found the first two seasons of 'Medium' and the complete 'So NoTorious' set included in the 3 for $20 sale. I was hesitant because the discs aren't in the original packaging, but I had to bite at that price. I'll just order a few multi-disc amaray cases and use artwork from one of the individual cases for the covers.
14 discs for $24 + tax. All in great shape, so not a bad deal.

I found a copy of Fright Night II about a week ago. The cheapest used copy on Amazon is $50. The one I found was fairly beaten up, so no resale value really, but still pretty cool to get for $4.

They had the 3 for $20 this past weekend on $14.99 and up titles, so I picked up 6.
Milk, Role Models, Religulous, The Reader (BB Exclusive), Changeling, and Ghost Town. Pretty happy getting these for so cheap.

i was returning movies yesterday and they were actually putting all these and 4 for $20 and the like on the sidewalk in front of the store. like a sidewalk sale.
never saw any BBV do that before. seems like a sign of desperation or an overeager manager trying to ram product down throats.
they also revamped the inside of this place and put all the 3 for $ and 4 for $ where the rentals used to be. it was such a mess and odd new setup that i really will be going less and less.
anyone else see this sidewalk thing?

Smallville S6
Bridezilla S1 & S2
Kyle Xy (but only 2 of the 3 discs - same thing at two stores)
Medium S2 (but only 5 of 6 discs)
4400 S2
Queer as Folk various Seasons
Might have bought the Kyle, Smallville, & 4400 but were at different stores and missing a disc... ahhh a peaceful afternoon of spending gas + time to come home w/nothing..... :)

you know that if you go to blockbuster.com you can check if the 3 for $20 deal is going on right now or not. just hit the stores link.
Check the lower part of the screen, if there is a green 3 for 20 sign, go and buy those movies.

That is never accurate where my blockbusters are concerned. Whenever a 3 for 20 is going on the site always says 2 for 20.
