don't worry, deep discount always has stuff labeled fullscreen that isn't. i just ran the upc and it is a widescreen release

DO you know this for sure. Most of the sites selling this say 4-disc collection. Unless 2 of the movies share a disc, I'm not sure how this could be true.
Also, how are these packaged? Digi-packs, slim-cases?

Yeah, the Barnes & Noble site lists the full chapter stop titles of each disc, and on that site, it's a film per disc with four discs. Also, DVD Empire lists only extras that resemble those found on the original DVD release of the first film. I'm not understanding how the first film is the 2-disc version. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly jump on this deal!

9.99 for the magnificent seven isnt bad. But ti is the one disc version, plus you get all the crappy sequels. I would probably get this, if I didnt already have the 2 disc SE, despite the suckage of the sequels.

It is the single disc version of the magnificent seven I know it for fact when Wal-Mart had these set last year (I pass on it because of that very reason).

The Magnificent Seven is one of my favorite movies ... but the sequels are very mediorce IMHO ... so Buyer Beware for those who haven't seen them and are hoping for something on the order of the original ...

Very good point. The first is a classic, but the sequels go downhill both in terms of quality & acting firepower.
However, if you don't have the first (I recommend the 2-disc special edition), you could think of it as $4 for the classic & $2 each for the other three.
While the first set the template (after Seven Samurai), the others stick to the formula & are pretty routine. Besides the lack of the original supporting cast of future stars (McQueen, Bronson, Coburn, Vaughn plus Eli Wallach as the villain), the role of Chris goes from Yul Brynner reprising his role in the sequel to George Kennedy to Lee Van Cleef. The 2nd movie has some recognizable faces (Robert Fuller, Warren Oates), the 3rd has James Whitmore, while the last (which looks like a tv-movie) has the likes of Ralph Waites (Daddy Walton) and James Sikking (the uptight SWAT leader from Hill Street Blues). I hate to imagine what the cast of a fifth "Seven" movie would look like.
Actually, a western "team" movie along the lines of Magnificent Seven or The Professionals is long overdue. Think of the high-powered talent assembled for the "Oceans" movies & you get the idea what a star-quality cast could accomplish. If "Ingloreous Basterds" is a success, maybe we could see someone take a stab at another "Seven" film.

I have seen the individual discs of each of the magnificent seven movies in the walmart bin for $5 each before and was thinking of buying them, but this was an even better deal, worked out to $2.50 for each movie including shipping. thanks again to the o.p. , nice addition to the westerns section of my collection.
