Looks like a double dip for me. This completely outclasses the Artificial Eye version and the inclusion of a director's commentary not on any other release, and includes the 70 min doc. Something that seems like you can count on from Sony.

i tried to like this movie, but was bored silly. visually stunning, but nothing else.

For standard-def it looks like R1 is the way to go, but BD owners will have to decide whether they prefer a commentary + animatics or deleted scenes -- unless the animatics are deleted scenes.

why there aren't any online reviews (with detailed specs) for the AE blu-ray edition just confounds me

16 minute director's interview
in the interview he clearly talks about a deleted scene that was not finished, and said "It will be on the DVD", but it wasnt....
The picture quality and sound was excellent.
