Best Collector's/Limited Editions?
I don't normally purchase Limited/Collector's Editions of games, as for the most part they're just way over-priced (at least at release date) or don't offer any worthwhile additional items.
However, I do have the following LE/CEs (all for PS3):
- Soul Calibur IV
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- Devil May Cry 4
- Resistance 2
Maybe it was that I waited till I could get each of these titles new for under $30 a piece (on average), but I think these editions were pretty worthwhile LE/CEs.
Just wondering what the rest of you thought, as to what other LE/CEs (for the current generation of games) were also worthy of the LE/CE title?

I don't think my CE of SF4 was worth it. The anime movie was decent, but probably not worth the extra $20 for it, since the figure and soundtrack haven't been touched. If I had to do it again, I would have probably just bought the normal version.
The Fallout 3 lunchbox is pretty neat.

I think between the movie, soundtrack, bonus costumes, and figurine, it was well worth the cost. I do regret the Halo Wars and Resident Evil 5 LEs however.

I dunno, if you could get them for 30 bucks easily after release, they weren't very good LE's.
I can tell you one of the worst ones, though:
Mortal Kombat vs. DC. Hey, pretty cool, you get some nice Alex Ross artwork and a comic book. And one of the crappiest cases ever made, much worse than the regular edition.
I didn't think the SCIV LE was all that great either. Oversized tin, tournament brackets, and a tshirt, right? No way was it worth the extra cash, if you bought it for that. At least it came with the regular case too, though.
I thought the Fable II LE was decent for fans of Halo.

The only ones I have are GTA 4 SE and DMC 4 LE. I was also tempted to grab the Halo 3 LE because I wanted the stupid helmet.
I bought GTA4SE for $30. I'm not sure it was the best purchase as I don't like GTA but for some odd reason I really wanted the dufflebag and lockbox...
I picked up DMC4 LE for $30 at Best Buy. I wish I had known months later blockbuster would have it for $15... I still haven't opened my copy from Best Buy and I bought it in December.

Re: Best Collector's/Limited Editions?
^ DMC4 LE cost me about $18. SCIV CE was $35 but still I have not seen it lower since then. Although now that the game alone has dropped to $20 in some stores, perhaps it is not the best value for the extra $15. Still, the art/comic book and heavy duty tin casing/slipcover are cool.
I just picked up MGS4 LE this week (had bought the game alone for $27 back in December but returned it due to the AFAIK unresolved possibility of the game freezing, similar to GTA4). It was $35 as well, but I could not resist the heft of the packaging.
I think the MGS4 and DMC4 LEs are worth it, since they both include 3 discs of content and have nice packaging to boot. I don't think I would consider an LE/CE that didn't include the standard game case inside. That was one reason I passed on the Batpod edition of the Dark Knight Blu-ray.

Re: Best Collector's/Limited Editions?
I have to say, I think most collectors editions of games end up sucking and not being worth the money, I bought the Bioshock expecting the actual soundtrack since its what was being advertised and what do we get a crappy CD with a couple bad songs on it and the Bidd Daddy Figure is cool still doesnt look that great.

Re: Best Collector's/Limited Editions?
argh I forgot we bought the Burning Crusade CE and Wrath of the Litch King CE so my fiancee could have the special pets.
That reminds me about how she wasted a 60 day time card to get the pet dragon they had during the olympics. She played around two AV matches, got the dragon and never logged into her account again.

I have a couple from last gen, but nothing from this gen. Honestly, I don't see myself buying another collector's edition/limited edition game again. I hate clutter, and these things just add to it.

The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition GameCube was better. It had The Legend of Zelda, Link's Adventure, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. Grammar corrections for LOZ and twice the resolution for the N64 games.

I liked that Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu came with action figures, although I was disappointed that the Gamecube version that I bought came instead with a Jim Lee lithograph.

Halo 3 Legendary Edition gets my vote. I only paid $60 when Amazon had it for DOTD, but for $130 I think it's a little pricy. A close second is the Bioshock LE. The figure is bad ass but the CD sucks.

Re: Best Collector's/Limited Editions?
Upgraded my regular copy of Resistance 2 to the CE for an extra ~$3, thanks to Future Shop's appreciation sale yesterday. Not bad for the nicer cover, the DC Chimera figure, and the bonus disc and artbook
Worked out to $35 for the CE!
