Score two fan-favorite flicks in vivid high definition — plus some e-Movie Cash — with this special limited time offer.

Any pair of movies below, such as X3: The Last Stand and Fantastic Four, are yours for just $35.

Plus, you'll receive a code (along with redemption instructions) with each Blu-ray Disc good for $10 in e-Movie Cash. This movie cash can be used toward tickets for your choice of three of the summer's biggest blockbusters: Night at the Museum 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine or Ice Age 3.

Follow these steps:
Select two Blu-ray Discs from the list.
Click the Add Items to Cart button.
Two titles per order. See offer details.

e-Movie Cash codes/certificates are valid 5/1/09 to 9/21/09. While supplies last.

cancelled my $48 Trilogy box set preorder last night and picked up X-Men 1 & 2 with this deal when it came to my attention that the Trilogy box set contains no movie cash whatsoever (just digital copies which the stand alones do not have) .... $20 value to me over a $0 value to me. Will look to pick up X3 later (yes I actually liked this movie)

NOTE: there are 2 listings for X-Men 3 The Last Stand .... one obviously was to be the new version and one the existing ... both come up as available and not preorders so if you are looking for the new version you might need to verify when you get to the store if you do in-store pickup.

Are you sure the singles don't come with the digital copy? Kind of dumb on Fox's part to make that exclusive to the trilogy.

yes I am sure and I think it is more stupid to make the movie cash exclusive to the stand alones

Thanks for this.

I rarely buy anything from Best Buy anymore, but still have some Reward Zone GCs that expire next month.

X-Men and X2 for $21.40 ($35 – $15 RZ + 7% tax) works for me.

I'm pretty sure that the stand alones come with the digital copy at least the ones were I work have them, but I will double check.

I was just at my local best buy which had all 3 new versions of x-men 1, 2, 3 out on blu ray! when I asked for the trilogy box, they said it doesn't come out until tuesday... gotta love them!

and the individual packages definitely only have 2 discs - no digital copy - those are only in the trilogy box

The back cover scans for both the standalone releases and the trilogy box set are up at DVD Empire....the standalones specifically state they are two disc sets and make absolutely no mention of any digital copies, while the trilogy box set makes sure you know it contains the digital copies by plastering that fact all over the back packaging....
While I will miss having the trilogy box, I think I might go for the three standalone releases, as the two disc cases will be less prone to breakage than the three disc cases are, and I have no need for the digital copies....plus the free movie cash, which I know I will use to see Wolverine too, hmmm....

I couldn't care less about the digital copies. Free movie tickets sounds like a better deal, IMHO.

A new Regal 16 theater actually just opened this past week near me, and until April 26th they actually are giving away a free popcorn and drink with purchase of a movie ticket! If only they would keep this promotion going past this "grand opening celebration" time frame....

Does anyone know when we're supposed to get the movie cash codes? I placed my order, only to receive an email shortly thereafter saying "we goofed - they're not really in stock," got my order moved to another local store by calling customer service, and I've now picked up the order and already received the "thank you for picking up your order" email. But.... no movie cash codes. Anyone?

movie cash is not sent to you via email
it is either on the package in the form of a sticker with code on the back, in the package (with an indication on the outside of its inclusion), or in rare instances outside of the package in some type of case you would bring to the register with your disc(s).

I am going to guess that since there has been existing stock on most of these titles without movie cash included that you picked up those titles.
I would assume newly stickered product was manufactured for this promotion and either not out at your store or you overlooked it.
This promo started on Sunday and most stores aren't stocked/replenished over the weekend.... there could be new product on the way or in back with said movie cash
I would go back to the store with hopefully unopened discs in hand or opened with all packaging and would show them their circular or their website and let them know the product you picked up did not have the movie cash as promised.

I would also look for a specifically marked display or endcap featuring the movies in this promotion not in the regular BD aisle

My movie code was on the backside of the sticker advertising the free movie money a la the James Bond releases from last year.

:sigh: Thank you musick and dsa shea. I don't know why I had it in my head that the codes would be coming by email. Sure enough, neither of the movies has a sticker on them. Haven't opened them, so I'll be taking them back later this week when they hopefully will have the ones with the stickers at that time.

I think X-men Trilogy Blu-ray Box set comes with movie cash but I do not know the amount. Also it's release date is April 21st Tuesday for most of the B&M stores. I am still going with this deal though because you get $20 worth of movie cash plus 2 blu-rays for $35 plus tax.

Will you be able to use all the movie cash? In other words let's say you have $20 in movie cash and you are buying 4 movie tickets at $6 each. Will you then only be required to use your movie cash and $4?

Being that I want all 3 X-Men movies, and have the $10 off coupon from Papa Johns, its still better for me to get the trilogy.

If they're like any other movie cash, each one is good for one ticket up to a certain amount (this one being $10).

Thanks for the heads up. Will pick X1 & 2 up for $35 instead of the trilogy pack now, as I already have the the first Last Stand BD and don't care about the extras or digital copies.

Is this online only?

No. It's listed in their weekly Sunday ad.

It's in the weekly ad, so it should be in-store as well. I'll be going in to the store tomorrow. If it looks like you get multiple movie cash vouchers with the box set, I'll use the Papa Johns coupon and get it. Otherwise, I'll just be getting the first two movies.

I received my X-Men Trilogy boxset today from Wherehouse. I can confirm it came with the sticker on the front for the movie cash.

Just wanted to clarify this piece of information for everyone.

Sorry to ask this here, but I can't find anything about it on the DVD Talk forum and many here seem to be discussing it as if it's common knowledge, though these queries mean it's not.

• Is "X3: The Needlessly-Bashed Third X-Men Movie" a new edition with an extras disc of featurettes or is this one of those deals where the extra disc is the Digital Copy thing? [UPDATE: Yes, it has extras.]

• Is movie cash in all three of the titles in the boxed trilogy or just the first two movies individually? (I have the Papa John's coupon.)

• Are there any reviews out there yet? [UPDATE: I see High-Def Digest has reviews of X2 and X3.]

Hey Dirk

as you correctly answered all three movies have the feature on disc one with some extras, an additional disc of extras on disc 2 and in the trilogy set each movie includes a third disc (digital copy)

as I understand it only the individual stand alone releases (all 3 of them) have movie cash on package ... no movie cash at all in the Trilogy set

here are a couple more reviews

movie cash for sure with an actual redemption code or a sticker like the picture below that only mentions buying tickets online via BD-Live?

well it looks like someone else oversees (another board) received a copy of the (US) trilogy set and set it did have $10 in movie cash

this sucks that some do and some don't as I already cancelled my $48 Amazon preorder for the Trilogy and pre-ordered 1 & 2 from BB for $35

I guess the only way to confirm that yours has movie cash is to actually see the product in store.... now I need to go find a damn PJs coupon in case I decide to pick up the Trilogy tomorrow (if it has $10 in movie cash) instead of just movies 1 and 2.

or

Trilogy set approx $48 after coupon with tax if it includes 1 $10 voucher for movie cash add additional $10 to take spouse to movie = $58
vs
X1 and X2 for approx $38 with tax (includes $20 in movie cash) and pick up X3 for under $20 at a later date

pretty much a wash given I don't care for the digital copies and the box/packaging is of little consequence

Got Australia and Max Payne today, both had Movie Cash on them. Horton Hears a Who was in stock but did not have the labels.

musick
04-20-09, 06:27 PM
yep I checked out a BB today and they had the X-Men individual releases out already with all obviously having white movie cash stickers on them

the catalog as expected was mixed with some copies having the stickers and other (older stock) not

one would assume all online orders will be new stock shipped with the inclusion of movie cash ... but when picking up in store you just have to make sure the copy you pick up has the sticker on package

now the wait for tomorrow to see if the box set has it or not @ BB

So, who's gone to Beast Buy today and verified wassup with the box sets and movie cash?

04-21-09, 12:06 PM
I went there and the Trilogy didn't have a movie cash sticker. Only a white sticker about access some sneak peeks of Wolverine over BD-Live. The individual releases had the same sticker as well. I may have to check Target and do an exchange so I can get the movie cash. I had RZ certs to use at BB.

04-21-09, 12:14 PM
I just got back - The Trilogy box didn't have a Movie Cash sticker nor did ANY of the sale movies back in the blu-ray section.

There was a special display up front near the registers with all of the ones included in the deal with the movie cash stickers on them.

Neither Walmart nor Target had the trilogy box set when I went to both places this morning....all of the copies of the trilogy box set I saw at Best Buy did not have any movie cash stickers.....however Moviestop did have it WITH the movie cash sticker, AND it was even $5 cheaper than BB!
So for $49.99 - $10 coupon = 39.99 + tax out the door with the trilogy box set and a movie cash! I was really surprised Moviestop had the best price, as usually they are only "OK" price-wise....

from all accounts I have read I am giving FOX a huge thumbs down on their execution on this release

it is sad that one cannot order online or go to the store and have confidence in knowing what they are getting

the fact that some Trilogy sets have movie cash on them and some don't is bad enough
quoted specifically from the TCFHE press release
In a studio first, the discs include a BD Live feature that will allow fans to purchase advance tickets and gain access to exciting never-before-scene footage to the highly anticipated upcoming film X-Men Origins: Wolverine debuting in theatres May 1st. Boasting superior picture and sound quality for the ultimate viewing experience, the X-Men Trilogy set is loaded with deleted and extended scenes, cast and crew commentary, making-of featurettes and much more. The set also includes movie cash towards the new theatrical release as well as the studio’s upcoming blockbusters Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Night at the Museum: Escape from the Smithsonian.
even worse that some stand alone versions have movie cash stickers at BB for a promotion and some don't ... I can completely understand some of the other non new release catalog titles in the promotion being old copies without movie cash on them but it is unthinkable that all the X-Men movies which were new releases did not ship with it on package

content aside FOX gets major thumbs down for the roll out of this release
maybe they should contact the FBI to see where all the promised movie cash went

Just returned from BB after having picked up my online in-store pickup of both X1 and X2 on Blu. Opened the packages to find neither movie contained movie cash. Then I checked my receipt and notice I, too, had only been charged $7.50 for each disc...

So, in an attempt to offer a hypothesis, it could be that BB is only charging those customers who got non-Movie Cash X1 and X2 discs $7.50 apiece for each disc to make up for the $10 in Movie Cash each release was supposed to, but does not, contain.

That sound plausible to anyone?

nope
just seems like a glitch that some of the online pre-orders for in-store pickup are being charged the dvd promo price (2/15) on some titles
makes me kind of wish I didn't cancel my online order for in store pickup yesterday

I went to Best Buy on my lunch break and they didn't have the individual releases on the shelf, and there weren't any of the trilogy box left either. I ended up finding them on a cart for restocking, but there were only 2 trilogy boxes left and neither of them had the movie cash.

Only some of the stand alones had them, others didn't. Really weird.

Had to go to Fry's today and they did have the BD trilogy with movie cash but not on sale ($59.99). Stopped by BB on the way home and they had the BD trilogy on sale ($54.99) but none of them as well as the individual releases had movie cash. OK Fox, let's get it straight next time.

My Best Buy only had the new individual releases of X1, X2 and X3 with movie cash (along with the other advertised 2 for $35 blu-rays in a display.) Most of the Trilogy boxes were beat up and not a single one had movie cash. I wanted the trilogy, used the Papa John's $10 coupon, a $5 RZ certificate and purchased it for $39.99. For now however, I have set it aside, while I await Fox's response to Musick's clarification.

I think it stinks they couldn't provide at least one movie cash voucher, especially considering I purchased all three movies.
