Is there such a thing? just curious.. I know there are a lot of in-wall speakers but not sure if there is a in-wall TV. Any info would be highly appreciated. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

So far all examples I have seen are TV's that are built into a soffet made for the TV. I like the idea of not taking up much needed room. The only problem I see is changing the TV would now require extensive remodeling.

My parents used to have an in-wall TV. It was really old and my father builted it himself. They used to sell a DIY kit for a TV way back then.

It was pretty cool, but a real pain in the butt to build.

If you have money to spend, Plasma TVs are options... prices are coming down (slowly) and I recently saw a 4:3 decently sized Pioneer on the web for less than $4500... 16:9 models can be had for less than $8K.

Pioneer's plasma TV's are real nice. (Fujitsu makes a 40" one for 5.5k ). In the next few years, they could drop to 2-3K. They save lots of space - look like a picture hanging on the wall. If you can "settle" for a 36"-40" screen, it's a cool way to go.

Speaker placement can be tricky if you wall mount the TV. The center speaker needs a sturdy shelf w/alot of overhang to get it away from the wall. Same goes for in wall TV's- you don't want the center speaker inside a cavern. The speaker delays can be a pain too.

another problem is heat dispersion, because most TV's have the vents in the rear.
