I am looking to buy a new DVD player
WITH THE FOLLOWING:

DVD Player
Audio AND Video Receiver
Dolby Digital Decoding (DTS optional)
and Component AND S-Video inputs/outputs

Is there such a system?

I don't want to spend more than $1000

Toshiba SD6109C -- 50 watts per channel DD/DTS Receiver and DVD player. The receiver part is 50 watts per channel x 5 and the unit does S video switching and is made by Onkyo. There currently is a buy cycle at http://www.mobshop.com/products?product_id=3990 (lowest price about $350.00). If there are any 20% off coupons still out there, you could pick it up for $275 (do a search on the DVD Bargains forum for available mobshop coupons).

Govideo makes a similar unit.

Good luck.

The Toshiba SD-6109C is a solid, inexpensive option. I bought one from www.vanns.com to give to someone and have been very impressed with their service in the few times I've dealt with them. Right now they offer the 6109 for $400, shipping included, if MobShop makes you as nervous as it does me.

At $1000 you would probably be better off buying components separately. The Toshiba is pretty good (from what I understand it's an onkyo receiver and toshiba dvd player combined).

You can pick up a number of good dvd players for around $300, and there are many good receivers for about $500-$600, within your budget.

Check out www.audioreview.com for reviews and suggestions on audio equipment.
