RIP Lou Perryman - Texas Chainsaw 2
RIP TEXAS CHAINSAW 2’s Lou Perryman
Friday, April 03, 2009 03:57 PM Michael Gingold News - R.I.P.
Details have come to light on-line about the tragic murder of actor Lou Perryman, who played radio station worker L.G. McPeters in Tobe Hooper’s THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2. Perryman was found murdered in his South Austin, TX home, and a suspect is in custody.
According to Txcn.com, the body of the 67-year-old Perryman was discovered in his home yesterday, and that the alleged perpetrator is 26-year-old Seth Tatum, who is already under arrest and facing charges in a separate attack on another man this past Wednesday. Tatum had reportedly been released from prison just three days before that assault. An earlier report on the murder at MyFOXaustin.com revealed that Tatum led detectives to the scene after turning himself in at the Travis County Courthouse.
Perryman, who served as an assistant on the original CHAINSAW, was billed as Lou Perry in CHAINSAW 2 as well as Hooper’s POLTERGEIST and Kevin Tenney’s 1989 fright flick THE CELLAR. Under his full name, his credits included BOYS DON’T CRY and the David Carradine-starring genre feature THE MONSTER HUNTER. He made numerous convention appearances talking about his CHAINSAW experiences in recent years, and was to have attended this weekend’s Cinema Wasteland con near Cleveland. FANGORIA mourns his death.

I read about this yesterday. I've met Lou before and he was a super cool guy. This is such a stupid thing to have happen. He was supposed to be at the Cinema Wasteland convention in Ohio this weekend where they were doing a big TCM reunion special event featuring cast and crew from many of the films. From what I heard, the mood is somber at best.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is one of my favorite underrated horror films. It was just fun.

Such a tragey.
For a great Lou performance in a great film check out Eagle Pennell's "The Whole Shootin' Match". An excellent SE DVD just came out and there are some great recent interviews with Lou on it.
RIP Lou.
