Brand New Sega Genesis game to be released! (pier solar)

This is not an April Fools Joke:

"Pier Solar will be the very first all new game to appear on the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis and Sega Mega CD / Sega CD this millennium. The game is neither a Port, nor a translation and has not ripped content from any other game what so ever."

Spoiler:
''In a prospered and peaceful town called Reja, there live three best friends: Hoston, Alina and Edessot.

Young and curious, they want to go on a herb-seeking quest to help cure Hoston's father's illness.
Little do they know ... it will be the beginning their lifetime journey where they will learn
the true meaning of friendship and the thrill of adventure.

This journey will demand their courage and wisdom to solve the long lost mystery while
they face the forces of destruction by the evil man who is trying to change the world for his own good.
Trough his escapade, they will be reborn as great heroes to protect the universe from a mistaken purpose.

If you preorder the game you get the following:

What you'll get for your $35:
1 x 64MEG Pier Solar game cartridge.

1 x Audio/Data CD allowing enhanced HIFI soundtrack and sound effects, when used in conjunction with the Sega Mega CD / Sega CD add-on.

1 x 24 page glossy printed story book similar to those found with Japanese Sega Genesis Games.

1 x Uniquely styled gloss cardboard clamshell with incorporated storage for both the Audio/Data CD and booklet.

1 x Pier Solar Poster.

some game play scenes:

This is a pretty cool project. It looks great for a sega genesis game and you get a ton of extras when you preorder. I'm going to get this. Anyone else interested in this game?

Someone released a new Genesis game like 3 or 4 years ago.

Is it Beggar Prince?

That was just a translation of the original. Pier Solar is actually made from the ground up. Still pretty cool someone would go to all that trouble for such a small group of gamers.

Re: Brand New Sega Genesis game to be released! (pier solar)

I was all set to order this, but then I played the demo and it really did not impress. It was incredibly boring, I couldn't find an enemy to fight, there were issues with the scrolling, the graphics (for all the hype) were dull and uninspired, and the story seems like a bad mimic (not homage) of early '90s RPG fare, complete with endless, mindless unskippable dialog with grammar errors.

Clearly the developers are relatively talented and diligent to bring a project like this to completion, but my god, they should have read a few books on writing beforehand.

Edit: By contrast, that Beggar Prince game looks kind of neat.
