I received an email with 3 special offers

The email read, pick one of 3 to use by March 29. Use as much as I want. They are Free Shipping, Buy 1 Get 1 Free or 50% off box sets. It read that it's my choice which one I want to use. Click one of the 3 icons. Had anyone else received this email?

I used the B1G1 free for:
Into the West mini-series $25.77 on sale
Sybil free
It was $8.98 shipping.

I tried to use the Free Shipping one for the same 2 movies. Sybil would have been $8.78. It would be 20 cents cheaper and get $2 more funcash, but because Into the West is on sale, it wouldn't give me the free shipping. It shown $8.98.

I have $44 funcash, but it seems the Free Shipping won't work for funcash orders. I read the T&C and it doesn't say anything about not being able to use it with funcash orders. What a ripoff.

Re: I received an email with 3 special offers

The 3 offers are probably the same active codes currently in the Sale Codes thread posted by thejester. He posted codes including 50%-off box sets there yesterday or the day before.

I don't know what it is, but with a price like $25.77, Into the West must be a set. Sets are not "DVDs" according to Columbia House, so you don't get free shipping on it. The offer details probably read "free shipping on your DVD order." When the details read "free shipping on your order," it includes box sets (I suppose unless they are specifically excluded in the fine print). Since you quoted the shipping, it appears to be $6.99, which would make it a 4-disc set.

Free shipping never works with FunCash orders. Never. The terms of FunCash (used to) specifically say that you pay shipping and handling on FunCash orders. I have not read those terms since the site redesign, so I can't say for sure that's what it still reads.

You can use your FC$44 to order 3 $14.95 movies and pay $0.95 + $2.99 + $1.99 + $1.99 = $6.92. Or, you can order those 3 movies without FC and pay $4.80 x 3 = $14.40 by cycling accounts. That means your $44 in FC is worth $7.48. Even less if you order 2 $19.95 or $21.95 movies. And using it on $12.95 or less movies is basically throwing it away, as they can be gotten through other sales for about what you would pay by using your FC anyway. It's only worth using on titles that can't be used as enrollment selections, or on $14.95 titles if you really want them.

To be honest, the code you used was not exactly the best deal. B1G1FS codes are fairly common, so you could have saved another $2 by waiting for one of those.

See my sig.

Yes, we've probably all gotten this email but, like most, I ignored it as the codes thread will have them posted sooner.

Free shipping *NEVER* works with FC orders. That's SOP. Most of us consider FC to be basically worthless. If we just happen to accumulate enough to get a title, OK... we don't attempt to build it up. Cheato pretty much summed it up...
