If you could only bring 1 DVD (set) to a deserted island?
so you know in advance you will be going to an island, banned from society, for an indefinite amount of time (never knowing if or when you will ever be back), by yourself, and it will be totally deserted. but, you will have electricity with a nice, little home theater set-up which includes: a Standard DVD player only, nice sized flat screen, good speaker set-up with tuner, and a comfortable recliner.
with all your choices, you can pick only one DVD (movie or set) that will have to have the most rewatchability and best set of features that will keep you occupied for a very, very long time...
i think if i could only take one:
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Chosen Collection" (w/Best Buy bonus disc) ...this set has the best of everything i like: comedy, drama, horror, suspense, and action. it encompasses so many genres in the show and there are so many episodes i could watch over and over. it would be the most fun and keep me occupied for the longest i think.
which DVD will you take?

That's a great question, and a really tough one to answer. Since I watched one and it's fresh in my mind I'd say the James Bond collection.

A standard DVD player? I'll try to swim for shore...
J/k...
I'd probably go with the Friday the 13th set. I grew up on those movies, so I can watch them all day long. Well, except for Jason Takes Manhattan.

The Honeymooners are cool but i'd say
The Mel Brooks Collection or if for some reason that wasn't available
i'd say the Sergio Leone Anthology- love the soundtrack in it.

Oooh..yeah the Sergio Leone Anthology...if only Once Upon A Time In The West and Once Upon A Time In America were in it'd be a truer anthology. But different studios and whatnot...so yeah..

If we are allowed to include things that haven't been released yet, I would bring the eventual "Lost: The Complete Series" set. If not, I third the James Bond Ultimate Set.

Another vote for the James Bond series.
Murder She Wrote and Midsomer Murders would be my second and third choices, if they were allowed.
