Dancing with the Stars - Week #3 (3/23 - 2 hrs & 3/24 - 1 hr) - Samba & Foxtrot
Night Three - 3/23
Mondays 8/7c - 2 hrs
Belinda Carlisle has been booted from the ballroom! Twelve stars remain to dance the Samba or the Foxtrot.

One couple leaves the competition. Performers: Hall & Oats ("Maneater") and Adele ("Chasing Pavements")
Note: I intentionally left Melissa and Giles out of the poll... they're gonna be "safe" for a long time.

I thought they were very generous in the scoring in the 2nd hour. They really want the Woz off the show, don't they?

Shawn and Mark were really good this week, I hope people don't overlook them.
I think Denise and Maks deserved more points.
Dunno why LT got these scores, Edyta did everything.
Gilles and Melissa were really good. Ty keeps improving (14+20 to 23!).
Lil Kim and David are the good surprises this season.

Yes, Melissa and Gilles were great but I like the underdogs--Ty was great and so was David. Very nice surprises from both of them.
I don't know how Woz has been the worst (samba?) ever because there have been plenty of bad dancers and dances on this show.

Denise got saddled with a horrible song for her dance. Whose idea was it to set a samba to that slow lifeless song?

The judges were needlessly mean to Steve--he at least tries to dance which is more than can be said for a few of them. I had a feeling he'd make it through. The DWTS voters are more likely to forgive a cuddly male who can't dance rather than a bimbo (real or perceived) who can't dance.

Does anyone realize how ridiculous this dance-off is? The vote difference between the bottom two teams has to be in the hundreds; 20 more points isn't going to make a bit of a difference.

The people's votes are equalized to 50% of the total composite score, and added to the judges' scores including the dance-off.

Gotta admit that Karina's happy squeal when being announced as safe was adorable.
I enjoyed both vocal performances. Hall & Oates singing 'Maneater' always works for me!

Exactly. Woz is a terrible dancer, but he does try and he's enjoying himself. Based on that, giving him Master P-type scores seemed unnecessary. Not to mention that Denise/Maks underperformed Monday. Bad song aside, Denise was awful and Maks was off his game. And if faced with the choice between Holly and Denise, I'm picking Holly. At least she doesn't fake cry every time someone criticizes her dancing.!
