World of Goo: Wiiware/PC

Guys I know this is a bit late but I just came across this game and it is phenominal!!! If you have a Wii or its for PC as well do your self a favor and get this right away. Its a puzzle game and its finest. Addicting as hell. I felt this game deserved its own thread.

If you get it you'll know what I mean.

Re: World of Goo: Wiiware/PC

I haven't played the game proper, just the original World of Goo tech demo thing. That was a lot of fun, so I will get to the game eventually.

Just beat it tonight. Bought it off of Steam a couple weeks ago for $5 because of the reviews. Absolutely loved it!

Re: World of Goo: Wiiware/PC

I played the Wii version. I highly recommend this game. Such a simple concept, but executed brilliantly, constantly changing and adding variety. You'll keep playing levels just to see what they are going to throw in next.

This game was a steal for five bucks on Steam a few weeks ago, If Steam puts it on sale again everyone should pick it up, even if you aren't into pc gaming, or don't have a gaming pc. I bought the Steam version just in case they release DLC.

I got it for $5 too. Tried just the first levels and it looks really interesting, but yeah, I guess $5 is the right price.

Yeah got it for $5 on the steam sell. I'm on chapter 2. The only level that gave me trouble was the one with just a big gap and the sign saying it is easier than you think. It didn't give me a lot of trouble, it is just that my first idea fell apart.

I downloaded it then, too, but the little I've played, I didn't get too far. I tried a couple times, but overall I don't think it's for me. Maybe another shot....

Good lord, every gamer in the world should buy this through that deal. I paid full price for it on the Wii, and it's worth even more than that to me.

I'll never understand why they think this is good promotion. Most people are gonna be assholes and only pay $1. It seems to do more harm than good.

I was very reluctant to spend $15 on any WiiWare DLC but it was almost worth it at $50. Great game.

Re: World of Goo: Wiiware/PC

I don't blame them for trying something different. The game was probably dead in the water, selling what it was gonna sell, so they figure why not try to boost interest in the game as a last ditch effort to eek a bit more money out of it. Sadly, these "what it's worth" campaigns really only translate into what people are willing to pay, which is nothing -- unless you're a super fan.

Sales #'s for the sale.

I've never played the game before, and I wanted to try the demo before I decided how much to give. However, I never got around to it.

Damn, that's pretty crappy.

I wonder if it wouldn't be worth their time bringing this to the iphone?

Re: World of Goo: Wiiware/PC

Even with a lot of people paying a penny, they still did really well. The people that paid are almost all people who never would have bought it under normal circumstances. The people who would have bought it under normal circumstances were probably the ones that paid the higher amounts anyways.

The game had been on Steam for $5 for a long while, was on clearance at Target for $3, etc. They cleared $100,000 or so, got a ton of publicity, and probably earned looks at future releases from many people. I don't think they should be disappointed with the results.
