The Amazing Race 14 -- "Alright Guys, We're at War!" -- 3/22/09
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
As I said in last week's thread, I can't believe they are visiting India again. It seems like the last several races have made a stop here. And it also seems like the race always shows that India is a polluted and poverty stricken country (which is true) rather than showing more positives about it.

I wish the brothers would have gone home. They have run a stupid race from the start. They lucked out tonight.

I liked this episode. The editing at the end was better than usual. I think I need to dust off my sign language textbook and study it again

You would think that after all these many seasons of the Amazing Race when the choice of detours involves searching through hay for something really small or doing something else, you choose to do something else.
And they had to accomplish a fairly physical task even before searching through the hay.
I still remember that poor girl that unrolled more than 100 bales of hay looking for the clue while all the other teams went past them. Of course that was a road block so she didn't have a choice.

Some of the teams have done their homework this time around.
You always do the dancing/earn money detour. Every time.
You never do the needle in the haystack.
Mel and Mike, specifically Mel did awesome
Still don't like Luke.
Liked the blondes. They were good people I think

I don't know if your aware, but episodes are posted on CBS.com the day after it airs. This is actually the 1st season they have done it. Definitely make an effort to watch it. Very entertaining episode.

This was actually a fun leg. I really didn't mind too much that they were in India. At least it wasn't a city that had been visited before in the past.
I liked Christie and Jodi. They came so damn close to pulling a big comeback. Once I saw the stunt brothers choose the sifting through hay task, I almost thought they could pull it off.
Victor has actually been working really well with Tammy recently. Hopefully he can continue this trend.
No offense to Jaime and Cara, but I was kind of hoping the Taxi driver would have taken off with their bags. That would have been a huge disaster, but great TV for the next leg. But, I really like those 2 and I guess I'm glad it worked out for them in the end.
You gotta really respect Mel for his hustle on the water/camel feed task. He looked like he was ready to collapse, but stuck it out without being a wimp and managed to get them into 2nd place.
Did anyone see the Camel kick that guy?? That was freaking hilarious.

Thanks, DJariya. I had wondered if the episodes might be available online. May head that direction to check it out.

It used to be that when a team came in last in a non-elimination leg that they could only keep the clothes they were wearing at the finish. Too bad they didn't do that this time.
Read Phil's blog and he's going to be riding his bike across the country starting March 28. http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009...eoghan--3.html

I know a guy who biked the Transamerica Trail, which runs from Yorktown, Virginia to Astoria, Oregon. He blogged about it here:

Thanks for the link Jason. I can definitely relate to his thoughts in the 2nd paragraph of the epilogue. I'll have to check it out more later. Some very nice pics he took. Here's a link to an old site of ours (looks like it still works): http://www.geocities.com/goldnbr1/trip/tour.html
Back on topic, this is one of the few seasons where there is nobody that I really dislike among the teams that are left. I don't find myself rooting against anybody.

I'd like to know how big of a time lead Victor and Tammy have over the other teams. I would think it's at least an hour over Mike and Mel. I wish more was shown of the penalty for not using the feed basket and rake.. like the camel guys sweeping away the first stack of feed. Just to give you a sense that the other teams weren't just piling on feed to what they previously put down.
