Where are these movies??

Okay, so where are these movies on Blu-Ray

Air Force One - This one was one of the first Sony DVD's they ever came out with. I remember getting it Day and Date back in 02/1998. It was their first batch. They even had 2 different cases back then. Keepcase and Jewel case. So why is this getting shafted on Blu-Ray
Bad Boys -
Bad Boys 2

Armageddon

Re: Where are these movies??

I believe Air Force One was released in the U.K.

The other ones aren't out yet.

Bad Boys is getting shafted. Would've been nice to tie it in with Hancock's release but nope.

I am surprised both Bad Boys movies have not come out yet. I would love to have Air Force One on bluray I would buy it in a hearbeat.

I really want The Village on Blu-ray, while we are discussing movies not yet available. Anyone think that could happen this year? I own all the other M. Night releases.

Re: Where are these movies??

I'm also surprised we haven't seen some of these popular Sony titles... specifically Mask of Zorro. Kinda wondering what they're waiting for...not releasing MIB2 with the first one, only the 2nd Zorro movie..? Also the two Charlie's Angels movies...not that I care so much about those, but they'd probably sell well enough...

Me too! I keep seeing Bad Boys II used in Sony's Blu-ray commercial on their DVDs and BR releases...

Re: Where are these movies??

I agree that AF1 and BB would seem to be right in Sony's wheelhouse. Really nearly all of that mainstream Superbit-ted stuff.

Re: Where are these movies??

I'd take Robert Rodriguez's Mexico Trilogy, Charlie's Angels and Bad Boys II on BD in a heartbeat. Bad Boys II is the best summer action picture ever, and I've expressed my love for its absolute non-stop over-the-topness numerous times on these boards. Hopefully when it arrives Michael Bay does a commentary for it.

Re: Where are these movies??

Air Force One is ready per comments made by paidgeek (Sony insider) last year.

Armageddon may arrive for Transformers 2's theatrical release or BD release. No idea on either Bad Boys films. I figured those are probably high on the catalog list.

El Mariachi on BD would look probably exactly the same as it does in SD. You might be able to see the film grain more clearly, but I'm pretty sure that'd be about it.

Ditto for "Bedhead".

Hmmm, where did paidgeek go? Can't seem to find him here anymore.

I also want to know where Lawrence Of Arabia went, it was featured quite prominently as an upcoming Blu title in the initial advertising for Blu. I'm guessing the lack of exploding cars and such has something to do with its absence to date...

I have super fond memories of "Logan's Run" as a kid. But man that movie has not held up well. And like most BD films from the 70's, I wouldn't expect great things from the picture quality.

I'm a completist, though, and if they're gonna put out two of them they might as well do all three.

I strongly agree... Then again, Forbidden Planet looked amazing on HD DVD when I picked it up... So, one can only hope. Besides, since I went Blu I am kind of hooked on purchasing Blu-rays only... eh...

ALSO

Does anybody know if The X-Files TV Series will ever be released on Blu?

Having watched my old Five Star edition of The Sound of Music recently, that movie desperately needs a restoration and Blu-ray Disc release! The EE and resolution of the DVD is horrible. I have many recent DVDs that have vastly better PQ when upscaled.

It might even sell decently on BD, for such an old title.
