I agree. I feel like that pricing is a total ripoff. This is definitely going on my "low priority" list for when it hits, say, $20. Is there going to be a less expensive version made available? If so I'd buy that.
This actually makes me worry about the releases for Wizard of Oz and North By Northwest. There's no way I'm paying anywhere close to this pricing for these movies. I love them, but sheesh. I just can't afford to nor am I willing to shell out that much. And like already stated, I own them already so it seems like a really bad deal ultimately.
If they cost $30 each for Pre-Order that would seem reasonable enough IMHO.

This is indeed the same price listed for Wizard of Oz on Blu-ray. And the discount is 30% off list price which seems pretty normal and nothing special.

But note, these are big "ultimate collector's edition" box sets with a bunch of extra stuff in them. It seems that Warners will offer these only at first, but I'm sure that eventually you'll be able to buy a standard edition of them at a normal price.

I may consider getting these sets depending on how good the reviews are on picture quality and extras. I already sold off my Gone With the Wind and Wizard of OZ sets in anticpation of the blu-ray release. However I will look for the best deal possible before purchasing.

You will likely not see the "normal" editions of either films this year...only the CEs.

I felt the same about Casablanca. I'll wait until they decide to release a non ultimate version at a reasonable price before I upgrade.

you'll see a regular blu ray edition,warner always puts out collectors ed.blu rays.it'll most likely be a blu ray digi-book with a $34.99 list or so..
