Awesome! I can't wait to own this (along with X-Men and X2 this April). I already have Superman Returns on HD DVD and The Usual Suspects on Blu-ray so my Bryan Singer collection is coming along nicely.

I missed this in the theater and it is a fascinating event in history. This will be a blind buy for me.

This will be a beautiful looking BD. And the film was quite good too. No brainer purchase from me. Too bad Tom Cruise is in it

After all the nonsense before it's release, "Valkyrie" turned out to be a great movie. Will gladly add it to my collection and if it looks anything like MGM's "Rescue Dawn" Blu-ray, it'll be reference.

Same here. It's at my local dollar theater right now, though, so I have a shot at seeing it first.

Ain't that the truth. It's been quite a while since I've heard so much bullshit about a film during production and it turned out to be, as you said, great. Which is what I should have said before. It's much much better than "pretty good". I don't buy "fair" films.

Wasn't planning on buying this, but I was in Target who had it for $25.99. It also comes with a $5 certificate towards Fox's war BDs. (Patton, Rescue Dawn, etc.)

Great movie, I'm looking forward to watching this tonight with the sound cranked up.

I was suprised to see this $5 certificate in the BD. I might get Rescue Dawn if I can find it cheap at Best Buy or Target. Looking at the back of the certificate, it's good at a bunch of places.

Re: Valkyrie -- 5/19/09

I rented this recently. The video has an insane amount of detail and the audio is surprisingly first rate for such a dialoge driven thriller.

The Valkyrie Legacy is the special feature of the BD. It's an almost 2 hour documentary of the various plots against Hitler by the Germans and also details how he first came into power and gives great insight into the lives of the conspirators.

Re: Valkyrie -- 5/19/09

Bought the BD today and just got finished watching it. And I am extremely happy with both the PQ and audio. Especially the latter. The sound literally knocked my socks off. And the image is pristine. Wonderful BD release! A definite 10/10 all around. Not to mention, a great film.

Yeah, the presentation of the film is first rate. This has become my benchmark for future BD releases when it comes to audio and video.

Re: Valkyrie -- 5/19/09

Not sure if this was a YMMV deal or not, i assume it probably will be, but i picked up Valkyrie on BD at FYE in the Bay Area for a mismarked $7.99 brand new! May be worth looking if you happen to pass by. The sale sticker said $ 7.99 but the computer rang up $32.99 so they gave it to me regardless. Cost $10.xx out the door w/ tax.
