Sound and picture not in sync (Sony player and TV)

My parents have a Sony Blu Ray player S350 hooked up by HDMI to a 42" Sony 1080 HDTV (sorry I don't know the exact model). The audio is out of sync with the video. It's intermitten, but it happens when playing Blu discs (standard DVD's have no sync issue). I haven't gone HD yet so I don't know much. Is there an easy way to trouble shoot this? Is there a simple sync adjustment on Blu Ray that I should know about?

Re: Sound and picture not in sync (Sony player and TV)

Does it have the latest firmware? Is it just the TV or is this with an audio system?

Many BDp's have had A/V sync issues. But Sony should be ok from this, if you have the latest firmware. I think. Maybe you should look up the owner's thread at AVS, it will have covered this if it is a typical issue.
