Meh. The prices are not all that great, even after currency conversion, and I am extremely disappointed by the utter lack of Canadian exclusive titles on there. Nothing at all from the CBC or Canadian made TV.

I'm pretty sure it's same as the US ver. since Canada dvd's also region 1 and they have pretty much same package.
But it's great price though... tempting....
I think it's gonna take 4ever to get all the music license cleared for the dvds....

Also, that is a pretty incredible price for Emergency (Seasons 1-3) $12.41 USA ea. The cheapest you can find them online is usually well over $20 ea.

Yeah, I knew about that tragedy. Looks like I'll be ordering S1 & 2.
But it looks like I cannot get free shipping and it's $11.26 for the 3 sets I'm ordering. Looks like no sale! :(

I didn't see anything in the post complaining about the lack of free shipping to U.S. destinations. However it is a valid argument about the shipping costs if you are interested in only a couple of items. It quickly turns a hot deal into a warm one. I was interested in only getting Quantum Leap Season 5 but $8 to ship it killed it for me. I was able to get a better deal purchasing it at Barnes&Noble.com. It looks like for the Amazon.ca sale to be worthwhile is if you can find about 5 or more titles in the $15.99(Canadian) category.
To answer your question CDWOW ships free to the United States.

Welcome to our nightmare. Amazon.com now has insane shipping charges to Canada, as well. Of course, we'll do you one better... We now also have the import fees deposit. So a $19 BD is now 19 + 7.98 + 2.81 = $29.79.
Probably the same principle, in that they try to recoup their costs for free national shipping by gouging the customers that require international shipping.

If memory serves me correctly, US residents are allowed to import merchandise up to $200.00 USD in value before import taxes kick in.
There are no duty on DVDs imported from Canada because of NAFTA.

This is correct. If the value is over $200, you still might be ok, Customs does not have the manpower to check every piece of mail entering the US to see if it's dutiable.

Well technically, NAFTA applies to country of origin, not country of export. But DVDs for North American distribution are usually manufactured in Canada, US or Mexico so that point is probably moot.

i know for people in canada any thing coming from the usa over 20$ they can tax but some times i order 100$ they dont tax then 20$ they tax 12$ so i looked into it it all depends who is there and if they feel like taxing you so its hit or miss
and amazon.com charges big money to ship to canada to like 10$ a dvd
but with the exchange rate the way it is
1$ usd is 79 can then its worth it for you guys where people from canada pays 21 cents on the dollar more on ever thing from usa stores so not a good deal enless its a super sale ie ebay or amazon sick sales where there pretty much giving stuff away
