I just wanted a snapshot of what people on the forum are using. I tried including most of the mainstream players in the poll. If you chose "other" please state which one.

If you have anything to add, positive or negative, please do.

50 views and 8 votes. Seems to mimic the American voting system well.

If I felt it was worth the money (or I just had some to blow) I'd buy another panasonic with the Ethernet connection. I'll live for the forseeable future I think wthout it.

PS3 still. I'll be replacing it in the theater room with either a new Pioneer or Panny though, whenever they come out.

HTPC exclusively. It only cost about $100 to add a Blu-ray/HD DVD drive to it.

I might get a standalone for the bedroom once they come down enough in price.

Panasonic DMP-BD35. Reasonable price and it had a mail-in rebate for 2 movies, one of which I was planning to buy anyway.

SONY s350. I started with an s300 last year. Then when I got the BoB box I learned my 1.0 profile player wouldn't play the PiP feature. So I sold my s300 on eBay and bought an s350 from someone who had it new in the box. I think by the time I paid all the fees it was just <$100 for the upgrade. Just the faster load time was well worth it. The s350 supports the HD audio where the s300 downconverted everything to DD or DTS.

Actually the S300 and S350 support the same audio (TrueHD/PCM). DTS MA can only be internally decoded on the S550. I do think you can bitstream DTS MA on the S350 though.

That's what I thought. All I ever got from my s300 was DTS and DD. I called SONY to see if I had to change my settings and he told me it downconverts to DD and DTS. I know my Pioneer receiver was capable. It wasn't worth exploring further because I was already deciding to upgrade the machine. I'll let the next owner figure it out.

Started off with a Panny BD-30. Sold that and picked up a LG BH200. Never took it out of the box and it sat in the closet for a few months until I sold it. I then picked up a Panny BD-55 from Amazon.com for about $298 plus 4 blu-ray movies.

I'll eventually grab another player but there is no rush. We have a 26" TV in the bedroom hooked up to one of my HD DVD players. This way I can play all the HD's, SD's and DVD-r's. We don't use it that much it's just a spare but as time goes on I'm getting all new movies on Blu-ray plus replacing a lot of the better older ones to Blu. Eventually I know I'm going to hear complaints about the player upstairs. IF there is a primo deal on a top-o-the-line SONY or Panasonic I'll grab that for the Familyroom and move the s350 upstairs. Five or six more TV's and players and I can start catching up to my buddy Gizmo. ;)

Don't play games much, but love how fast it loads and it does a great job of streaming stuff from my Mac.

Either of you try Transporter 3? Mine wouldn't play. I'm assuming it's firmware but I'm out of CD-r's so I have to get to the store before I can upgrade and check.

I have the PS3, just because when i got it, the cheapest i found a player was 399(maybe 379) and that how much the 3 was. And I was going to update my PS2 with a Xbox 360 and then I decided just kill 2 birds so I went ahead chose the PS3 40 GB.
I just moved my smaller 1080P tv in our bedroom so when i can afford it I'll pick up a Panasonic player(to go with my new Panny plasma) and move the PS3 in the bedroom, just so i can actually watch blu-ray discs in there.
Its funny you mentioned off-brands models. Not too long ago I sold a guy a 46" XBR 6, a $500 sony surround sound, a $400 universal remote and then for some reason he went with the $200 Slyvania Blu-ray player.

LG GGC-H20L HD DVD/Blu-ray combo drive. Voting wrong as I chose "LG". Meh. But anyway, I'm kinda waiting for the right Blu-ray player to come along. Almost got the BD55 but considering how fast electronics are being pumped out with little forethought, I'm content in waiting till the end of this year and into next year as well.

Does anyone know when the profile 2.0 blu-ray players with wi-fi will be available?
I know the PS3 does this, but I already have one in the bedroom and am sure my wife would not be keen on buying a second one, especially if the wi-fi enabled players are cheaper.

Wish I could change my answer to the Samsung BD-P2550. Traded my Panasonic for it today. Very much worth the upgrade, even if for Pandora alone. That is awesome.

I see the Samsng BD-P3600 comes with a wireless dongle. Is anyone running this unit yet? The netflix and pandora features plus wireless option make this unit very tempting.

How do you like this one? I'm vacillating between this, the LG BD390, and the Momitsu. I need to make a decision soon. How is the wireless set-up? I've been reading nightmare stories about how hard it is to connect, since the main reason I'd got for this is to get Netflix/Pandora streaming.

Second that on PS3. Plus in a month or so, we'll be able to stream Netflix!!!
