This is a very basic question. I moved all my home theater equip into my bedroom because I upgraded my living room. Everything worked great before, but now the system hums quite loudly. The only thing that was changed was location and I am using high end speaker cables instead of my bi-wires cables. I have relocated the wires a million times and it still hums!! The amp is making so much noise I can't take it. It never made this hum before. Well, actually it was theret VERY slight. It consists of a Rotel pre(RTC-965), the amp is a Parasound HCA-1206, Toshiba DVD, blah blah blah!! The amp is making all the dammed noise. The sub isn't even hooked up. The tower NHTs are humming away. Volume up it sounds great, but I can't take the hum. Help me please.

Try using a ground lifter (3-prong <--> 2-prong converter) to verify the amp is the component with the ground loop problem. Most likely the outlet in your bedroom is improperly grounded. You may be willing to run the amp ungrounded. Or if it has a metal chasis you could use a wire to ground it directly to something else (a radiator or heating vent for instance).

Good luck.
