Reverse Sheep: Round 5 — Video Game Bouillabaisse XXL Edition

Round 5: Video Game Bouillabaisse XXL Edition

A short game where you try to out-think other forum posters. Now with 30% more questions!

Rules:
  • You want to give the answer that you think will be given least often by other people. For example, if the question is "Name a game that has Mario in it", a terrible answer would probably be Super Mario Bros. A good answer would probably be Dr. Mario.
  • You get one point for every person that gives the same answer as you, including yourself. For example, if you and ten other people said Super Mario Bros, all eleven of you would get 11 points. No points are given if you are the only person to say an answer.
  • Unless otherwise noted, answer with US-released console or hand-held games only. 勇士の紋章 ディープダンジョン is not a valid answer for a question.
  • New! There are lightning rounds (marked by the !!!). In these, answers count double. Wrong answers are still one point above the most common answer.
  • Lowest score wins.
  • No using Google, Gamefaqs, Wikipedia, etc if you don't have to. Try to remain moral in this (i.e. don't use them to cheat).
  • Private message me your answers. Do not post them in this thread or tell anyone else.
  • To make it easier for me to score the results, please list your answers one per line and don't number the items. (That means you, nickdawgy)
  • Incorrect answers in Reverse Sheep get the number of points for the answer with the most votes + 1, making it worse than giving the worst correct answer.
  • Answers are due by Monday, March 3rd at 11:59PM EST. Answers will be revealed the following day(s) during business hours (to give you all something to do).

Remember, you want the answer that you think nobody will give!

Questions:

  1. Name a national retailer where you can buy new video games. Retailer must have 300+ stores in at least 25 states. That means Fry's and Meijer's are wrong answers.
  2. !!! Name a television show (that aired/airs in the US) that has had one or more games made from it. Name the show, not the game.
  3. Name a game from this generation that had a regular and one or more special or collector's edition(s) at launch. A "Greatest Hits" or "Game of the Year" re-release does not count. I'm looking for something like the Halo 3: Legendary Edition.
  4. Square (now SquareEnix) has been involved with a lot of games. Name one of their US-released games that does not have the words "Dragon" and/or "Final" in the title.
  5. Name a game with the name of a country in the title.
  6. !!! Name a sentient enemy from the original NES Super Mario Bros. Fireballs = not sentient. If you don't remember the name, describe the enemy.
  7. Name one of the original Tetris pieces (tetriminos).
  8. Name a developer whom you admire and have financially supported multiple times (including this generation). I'm looking for a company here, not a person.
  9. Name a game that uses filmed, human actors in its cutscenes. Rotoscoping (i.e Prince of Persia) or motion-capture does not count.
  10. Name a track from Super Mario Kart or Mario Kart 64. Describe it if you don't know the name.
  11. Name a non-vehicle weapon from Halo, Halo 2, or Halo 3.
  12. Name a third-person shooter released since 2000.
  13. !!! Name a board game that was turned into a video game. Name the board game, not the video game!
  14. Name the site where you get most of your videogame news from.
  15. Name a game from this generation set in space.
  16. Name a game from this generation set underwater.
  17. Name a non-secret playable character from GoldenEye 64.
  18. !!! Name a music or rhythm game that does not use a special controller.
  19. Name a racing game with the word "Speed" in the title.
  20. Name a peripheral released between 1984 and 2004.
  21. !!! Name a non-sports game series which has had more than five games across at least three consoles and/or handhelds and multiple generations.

Answers are due by Monday, March 3rd at 11:59PM EST

HEY THERE! If you need to REVISE your answers, please re-send a PM and just put "REVISED" in the subject line. I'll only take revisions if you mistakenly answered with PC games.

<hr>

I'll also need a volunteer whom I can PM my answers, as I'll be playing as well.

No one better put VGTalk for 14. Because NO ONE goes there for all the majority of their video game news.

Re: Reverse Sheep: Round 5 — Video Game Bouillabaisse XXL Edition

I'm putting on my thinking cap this time so I don't come in dead last again!

On #2, does it matter if the TV show itself was based on some other source material, and similarly, does it matter if the game is based on another source material that came out of the TV show?

As long as the game was clearly based on the TV show. If the game has, say, the voice actors from the movie or it was released before the TV show, then that clearly doesn't work.

The game has to be based directly on the actual show. I can't think of an example for this question, so I'll just say no.

Unless otherwise noted, answer with US-released console or hand-held games only.
It's in the rules.

There's way too many obscure PC games for it to be included in the answer. That's my fault though, as I should've thought of a PC-centric question. In all honesty, the last time I played games on a PC was a decade ago.

PC games would be a great answer for a non-Reverse sheep question round though.

On the TV show question, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show is a wrong answer. The TV show was based on the game. I'm OK with anything that was concurrently released.

I want to make it clear and I thought that would be a super-obvious answer. I haven't seen anyone's responses yet, since I haven't sent my answers out.
