On the Se7en SE DVD

Does anyone see flashes of black in the film. They don't last long, and they don't take the picture. They just start happening about halfway through the movie, and get pretty bad towards the end.

Thanks.

And what do you mean "they don't take the picture?"

Are you referring to the pictures they inserted for 1 frame?

Flashes. you're watching the movie and all of a sudden, frame of black flashes, not being the screen going black, just a dark flash.

Yes, I've noticed them. The one thats most apparent is when Mills and Somerset are waiting in the barbers for the FBI goon to return with the library info regarding John Doe...While the two are talking theres a quick black 'flash' and the screen 'jumps' for a split second after that...

I bought this DVD a few years ago and suspected it may be a defect and had it exchanged. The new DVD did not have the black flashes and worked fine, so I'm assuming its some kind of defect.

I'm referring to the New Line Platinum Edition of the film...

I'm referring to the same DVD as well. Since I bought it at a flea market of sorts and it's used, i cant' return it since all sales are final. However, it's not annoying. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't that the resolution and clarity of the movie itself was messing up my picture on my TV. It sounds stupid, but to me, anything can happy.
