Firsty movie to use a "retro" opening studio logo?
What was the first film to use an opening studio logo from years before? I was watching The Sting earlier and liked the use of the 1930's Universal globe at the beginning.

Superbad did it in 2007. Most Universal films from 1990 had the opening that cased all of their studio openings for their 75th anniversary.

The original Star Wars resurrected the longer version of the 20th Century Fox Fanfare music. I think the graphics remained the same.

The Good German used a faux classic opening.
Of course, the whole thing was an updated film noir (heavily influenced by The Third Man), shot in black and white, no less.

I always think of The Last Remake of Beau Geste (1977) when this comes up. It has the old Universal logo with the glass letters encircling the globe and then Marty Feldman comes out and starts destroying the letters with a hammer.
