Best Picture 2008 (The DVD Talk Academy Awards)
I didn't see anything like this posted and I wanted to see what film would have won had we been the ones voting. I've included the 5 nominees along with a few other critically acclaimed films and/or films with a big fan base. I may be wrong in the additions, but if you don't agree just vote "Other" and let us know who your vote is for.
Alright, let's see who wins....
...I'll start it out with a vote for In Bruges

WALL-E. It's a shame that it probably wasn't really considered as a Best Picture nominee because it's an "animated feature".

Movies that are, in my opinion, better than Slumdog:
Ballast
Che
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Låt Den Rätte Komma In
WALL·E

you should have to post which of the choices you didn't see so this doesn't turn in to 300 Dark Knight fanboys voting for it when they saw 1 other movie on this list.
I haven't seen:
MILK
The Reader
In Bruges
I voted for Slumdog

The Wrestler was very good, Slumdog was just OK, but I enjoyed the Dark Knight the most, and that's what counts.

Whoops...definitely screwed up not putting The Wrestler on there. It was really late and when filling in the last few spots must have just had a brain fart. The reason I put Iron Man on there was because of it's massive popularity and because it was being touted as "the best comic book movie ever" (maybe before TDK was released) through several different channels (although I am not a fan of the film). As for Wall-E, I was going to add it, but then figured that it won an oscar so I would pass on it for others, but feel free to click "other". As for someone asking why I added The Reader? Well, that answer is quite obvious or you could just read the original post.
Definitely screwed up with The Wrestler though...sorry.

Really? TDK was the best pic for some I see. It's my favorite film of the year for sure, but I clearly could see that Slumdog Millionaire was the better film. Honestly, the noms for Best Pic should've been TDK, Slumdog, Milk, The Wrestler, and Ben Button

Mod comment: I could edit the poll but at this point I don't think it would be a good idea, since all the listed films, save Frost/Nixon, have received votes.
I actually didn't realize i could edit polls. I thought that was an admin-only function.

Of the films I've seen, my choice would be 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (which had a 2008 US release) unless you count that as a 2007 film, in which case I would go with The Wrestler, followed closely by Wendy and Lucy.
