Fired Up (Gluck, 2009) Eric Christian Olsen Cheerleading Comedy
Just curious if anyone else caught FIRED UP this weekend? I had low expectations but since I was a fan of THE LOOP (season 1 anyhow) and Will Gluck was directing this, I thought I'd check it out.... and was pleasantly surprised. It's stupid as hell but it's also incredibly funny from start to finish.
Eric Christian Olsen and Nicholas D'Agosto are a very effective comedy duo and the rapid fire dialogue and goofy jokes keep this one moving at a great pace... not to mention lots of female eye candy. It's not going to be a classic or anything but I had a great time and laughed my ass off for 90 minutes, so I'd easily recommend it for anyone looking for a good time (and if you liked The Loop's brand of humour, it's right up your alley). One of the better PG-13 comedies I've seen in a long time. 4/5
(I read Orndorf's review on here and respect that everyone might not like it, but think that zero stars is pretty fucking harsh - must have been in a bad mood that day because I thought this was way better than Paul Blart, which got rated as 3.5 stars ).

I actually thought this looked okay. I saw a trailer for it awhile back, and was gonna check it out. Haven't seen it yet. I love stupid movies.
The one kid looks like he's 30, though.

Because you get to see her and many others bend over many times.
I usually don't watch movies purely for T&A but damn. And the Unrated cut adds much needed nudity. But seriously, damn. Something about cute girls in tight uniforms stretching just 'erm works. Yeah, I'd feel like a perv if all the actress (or at least, most of them) weren't in their mid-20s.
The line that got me laughing the hardest was actually in the outtakes:
"Mediocrity deserves applause! Let's all gather around a Ford Focus and start clapping!"
Also, the blond guy is almost 32 and does indeed look it. The other guy actually could pass for high school and is 29, go figure. Dr. Rick is 30 and is supposed to look older than the other two but still be in his early 20s, funny how that works.
Anyway, movie itself is nothing special but it does have some funny bits and managed to maintain my interest for the runtime. Mostly chuckles here and there but worth a watch. There was a very minor Ferris Bueller vibe from time to time, shame it couldn't sustain it. I did enjoy it more than I thought and more than the last few "Teen" movies I've seen, also the cast is surprisingly likable.

My Mom drives a Ford Focus and when I saw this in theatres with my sisters, we killed ourselves at that line.

I don't want to admit it but this movie has some genuine laughs. Dr. Rick maybe one of my favorite characters to come along in a while, just a perfect asshole. Every single girl in the movie is smoking hot, the 2 leads do a good job and actually have comedic chemistry. Check it out.

I think had this movie been over 2 hours long, and rated R, it would have been a true classic.

Well, the DVD cut is technically Unrated. Were there titties in the PG-13 version?

Well, not really. I can't really recall anymore, so I guess if there were, it didn't make much of an impact on my memories.

I ended up seeing this in theaters when it was still out. I really enjoyed it. Had some cheesy laughs, but overall it was a pretty good comedy.

I enjoyed this when I saw it, but the thing that I always notice is how much Eric Christian Olsen is like a younger Jim Carey. He was the perfect choice for the Dumb and Dumber sequel.

I just finished watching this earlier tonight and was very pleasantly surprised with it. I wasn't expecting much but it was pretty damn funny. Olsen and D'Agusto meshed really well together.
