Reporting Bootleg movies?
If you all worked for a company that is showing bootleg copies to the public ie Benjamin Button, Push etc, would you turn them in or just watch them with the rest of the people?

Hey, at least you don't have to pay for a movie ticket anymore.
I wouldn't say anything.

In what capacity does your company show bootlegs to the public? The quality of bootlegs isn't very good. I can't imagine people sitting through a film blown up to a big screen with less than DVD quality picture quality.

Do what ya gotta do if they are in the wrong. At least you will have a clear conscience unlike those that go along with it. However, like others I'd like to know the complete circumstances involved as it might not be in the best interest of yourself if these douches find out and take it out on you in some way.

I'm trying to figure out what kind of business would be showing bootleg movies to the general public? At any rate, if this is happening, it's only a matter of time before word gets around and someone will snitch.

it would definitely depend on the circumstances. I remember a few years back some prick turned in a personal care home because the nurses were renting movies and playing them in the common area. Reporting that was petty and cruel. If it's a bar or something (as i suspect it is), that's a different story. Still would think twice, cause it really isn't that big a deal.

but don't most of the screeners have a title bar, time codes that pops up every now and then, or switch to black and white for a few mins to combat piracy. certainly those would be noticed by a movie goer.

I work for a plasma company during school. People come in to get donate plasma for money and we have about 20 27in tvs that they watch while they are getting blood drawn. We put on movies all day long and most have been older and the last few days were Benjamin Button, Push and another relatively new one but cant remember at this point

Who brings in the movies? If it's fellow employees, it may be that management isn't aware of it, in which case you may want to notify them. If management already knows, you may want to send an anonymous complaint through the mail to them, to let them know it could potentially be a serious issue.
