Well, after that last boring airplane ride I have finally decided to bite. Any recommendations on one of those cute little DVD players I see priced outrageously? I'd also query "any good deals?" but would probably get flamed for posting that question in the wrong forum, so I won't...

Thanks in advance!

The Pioneer portable (don't remember model number) is supposed to be the best, but it is also the most expensive at around $1300-1500.

I've got a Panasonic DVD-L50 and really like it. We've had it for over a year now and it's given us no problems. Battery life hasn't degraded at all. We did pick up one of those converters that you can plug into a lighter... great for the car and American Airlines has the capability to plug the converter in on their larger planes. Perfect for those long international flights.

As for deals, I pretty much searched around on Yahoo and found some comparable (and cheaper) offers. Ended up buying at 800.com and had them pricematch.

Hey,

If you want some good reviews go to

I ordered the AIWA portable because I got it for $600US, it was the cheapest, and it has a bigger screen than the panasonic (5" vs. 5.8" Active Matrix Color TFT Display). Only downfall of this unit is that it's battery only has a life of 2.5hrs and I don't think it has a zoom feature.

As far as deals, if your comftorable there's always a bunch on e-bay. Just be careful who you buy from, and get the package insured.

Good luck,
Mike
