Amazon Blocks The Sale Of Japanese Rape Simulator Game
The game RapeLay came out in 2006 but Amazon just got wind of it now and banned it from their store. In the game you rape teenage girls and force them to have abortions.
Amazon Blocks Sale Of 'Rape' Game

A Japanese computer game that lets players simulate raping girls has had its sales blocked by Amazon.
The RapeLay videogame was available to buy on the web store via a third-party seller specialising in Hentai - sexually explicit Japanese animation products.
"We determined that we did not want to be selling this particular item," an Amazon spokeswoman said.
Rapelay was reportedly created exclusively for the Japanese market but a couple of "like new" copies were being offered on Amazon.
The game was released in 2006 by Illusion studio, based in Japan.
Other titles from the studio include Battle Raper and Artificial Girl.
According to game review site Giant Bomb, RapeLay is a "molestation simulation that allows you to terrorise a woman and her two teenage daughters, with events ranging from groping on a train to gang rape and forced abortions".
The Belfast Telegraph reported that Labour MP Keith Vaz said he was shocked by the Amazon listing and planned to raise the issue in Parliament.
Mr Vaz told the paper: "It's intolerable that anyone would purchase a game that simulates the criminal offence of rape.
"To know that this is widely available through a major online retailer is utterly shocking. I do not see how this can be allowed.
"I will be raising this matter in Parliament and hope that action is taken to prevent the game from being sold."
-I can't post url cause I have to post 28 more before I can do that. ugh just google it and you will find

The real crime is that this forum doesn't have a thread about this game. How else would I know to buy it?

This is probably the best thing that could happen for this game. Hundreds of people are going to buy it now that never would have heard of the thing.

1. What the hell is wrong with the Japanese?
2. Can't you do the same thing with GTA?

Eh, can't you rub up against strippers in the game and beat the **** out of them?
BTW the gameplay in GTA doesn't really bother me, it just doesn't get my attention either. The Japanese one though... that's horrific

Techincally I guess yes, but even in that extremely boiled down definition it doesn't come close to "molestation simulation that allows you to terrorize a woman and her two teenage daughters, with events ranging from groping on a train to gang rape and forced abortions."

But seriously Amazon is being hypocritical. Why is it okay to sell one form of violence (GTA 4 or manhunt) but not another form of violence? Why is killing people less offensive than rape? It seems like they have this backwards.

But they'll sell a game where you go around killing people??? I wonder what the families of people murdered would think of Amazon condoning murder?

Although this sounds like a dumb game, I like the idea.
I like the idea of eventually creating a holo-deck type "game" that psychos could completely immerse in. They could get their jollies, and leave the rest of the world alone.
When they came out of the game, and had to interact with real people, who are not programmed to be intimidated by them, they would get their asses whipped.

I'm not quite sure what to think of this. Initially, I completely understand and agree with Amazon's decision not to facilitate the sale of this game. But then the arguments that this makes them hypocrites are just too damn logical. Why is this worse than games where you murder, maim and steal? I feel like it's worse, but I don't know why?

Like having black tshirts and metallica tapes were in the West Memphis Three trials.
Actually, it was all the "evidence" they had.

I wouldn't be joking to much about this. This type of game will bring out critics calling for more regulations and laws. We're already heading into a more goverment control society and this game may add gas to the fire for just that.
Yea..I'm sure this brillant minded group will follow up with their highly acclaimed "Child Molester" game. Sorry but this is really pathetic.

Doesn't make much sense being a dvd game and all. You just press buttons to activate the rape? Sounds pretty boring.

Raping is worse than killing. That's my 2 cents.
