i only post this because i heard about this movie and that it was pretty good. and is on TV way before DVD.

"Splinter" won't be out till April on DVD/Blu, but if you want to see it it is on SciFi channel tonight 7:00pm EST. It is a one-time showing for now.

i am very surprised that this is being shown, especially on SciFi since it isn't even out on DVD and i was just searching for when this would be out on DVD just yesterday. imagine my surprise when i came across it in the DirecTV guide.

I watched it when they debuted it on HDNet Movies during the last Holiday Challenge. It was OK, but nothing like I was expecting.

Jill Wagner (from the Blade TV series) is definitely cute, but the film was much like every other film of its kind. Plus, I hated the fucking shaky cam work during the "attacks".. seemed like a mask for bad effects to me.

I saw the commercial for this and was interested enough to watch. It wasn't horrible, far better than most of Sci-Fi's original fair. I liked the concept and had there been few changes it could have been really good.

Spoiler:
That boyfriend totally needed to die, they would have stood out like sore thumbs in the refrigerators, and do you actually have to hit bone before you realize you can't cut through it with a box cutter?

^ That's because it wasn't a Sci-Fi original movie. It's as much a Sci-Fi original as Dog Soldiers was.

Yeah. Sci-Fi picked up the cable broadcast rights from Magnolia under the deal that they "delay" the release of the DVD/Blu-ray.

This would've already been on DVD/Blu-ray a month or two ago if not for that deal.
