I don't watch this, but TitanTV says it is HD now.

Red Dog: Check the ticking clock during 60 Minutes. The clock isn't as biased as the rest of their reporting. It can precisely calulate the pad.

I've read in reviews that there is a lot less airport footage this season and the are also going to be using a 24 style split screen to see where teams are at tasks.

Well, I'm finally breaking down and watching this. I've had friends rave about it and I like Survivor. So this will be my first time.

Are any of the seasons available on DVD?

EDIT: I see season 1 and 7 are available on Blockbuster.com. Are either worth watching?

If you want to watch a previous season, I would skip #1. It was a good introduction to the show, but it's come a long way since then. Season 7 was one of the highest rated seasons because Rob and Amber from Survivor participated.

Wish team hillbilly would have been eliminated. Between his yelling and her whining I already don't want to see them on my TV screen.

The real disadvantage I see that team deaf will have is if they have to communicate with each other in the car with one of them in the back seat. I hope for her sake she is good with directions.

I don't know if it was the lack of airport footage or what, but the show felt different tonight. While I'd guess that they have had an episode before, I don't recall ever watching one w/o a detour.

The cheese challenge rocked although it seemed like there were ways around doing the "traditional" way - just put the 4 blocks and 'sled' it down. Hats off to the hick for figuring that easy way out and to the geezer couple for doing it the hard way.

at the Swiss Cheese dudes at the bottom watching the racers try to get the cheese down the hill while sucking down beers.

And at the chick habla-ing espanol in Switzerland, not once but twice.

How did this show look in HD?

I was happy to see the eliminated team go. Not interested in seeing such a dysfunctional couple yet again on this show.

I'm not sure what CBS is doing, exactly. I get the dea of having celebrities in the Amazing Race to bring in the ratings, but if you credit him under an assumed name, how will all the Billy Bob Thornton fans know to tune in and root for "Steve"?

Also, seeing bunch of Swiss cheesemen stand around and laugh at the incompetent Americans is the best thing I have ever seen on TAR.

So when it said something like 'Amazing Race in HD' at the beginning of the show, what were they referring to? I don't have an HDTV, so I can't tell.

The Swiss guys who were banging the drums seemed to be doing it by swiveling their hips. It seemed to be kind of lewd.

Same here in Chicago. Why would they have the HD graphic at the start? Stupid CBS...

Decent enough start. Those cheese carriers had to be made that way purposely... talk about flimsy. For some reason the image of a wheel of cheese rolling down a hill is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

Unless there was a rule against it that we didn't see, I don't know why they just didn't stand at the top and roll them all down. That hill was seemed pretty treacherous with the mud and everything, and it would have saved the extra trip up and down.
