I met "The Rookie!" (Jim Morris)

Just thought I'd share this...

I'm a teacher, and we had one of our annual conferences on Friday. The keynote speaker was Jim Morris, the teacher/coach/baseball player whose story was turned into the movie "The Rookie" with Dennis Quaid.

While I'm not interested in sports at all, this guy was an excellent speaker, and gave a fantastic speech concerning the importance of following one's dreams. Yes, on paper it sounds rather cheesy. But his story and the way he tells it is fantastic.

Anyway, after his speech he was hanging out taking pictures and talking to people. I had an opportunity to thank him for delivering such a moving speech, especially since so many of the aspects of it really hit home with me. He was super nice and we chatted for a moment.

So it may not be as glamorous as meeting Dennis Quaid, but it was very moving and inspirational.

I just thought I'd share.

That's very cool to hear.

I never met him but I remember watching him play on TV.
