Well I don't have that model but I do have the MDR-DS5100 (DD/DTS) version from Hong Kong and here is my 2 cents:
- The bass is pretty weak (hey it's a open-air type headphone, what do you expect?)
- the surround is there but the virtual speaker placement is not that far away, makes you feel that those 5 speakers are like right next to you.
- the reception on the headphone is really good, even like 20+ feet away, and the "if no signal received then I'll shut myself off" feature is awesome. So when I walk around and listen to music and hit those blind spots instead a "hiss, hiss" sound it'll just go dead.
- no, interference does not exist, period.
- same as background noise, it's a open-air type headphone but the amount of background that got pick up during movies/music is so minimal that you won't be able to tell.
- And no, I didn't pay for 500 bucks for these babies, that's like a rip off in this country.
- Lastly, for pure music listening, this headphone totally kiss ass! Good reception, clean sound, no wire attached so you can walk around in the house and do your stuff... need I say more?
