Sears has the Tivo HD model TCD652160 on sale for $199.99. The ordinary price is $299.99. It ordinarily runs for around $260 at Amazon.

You can't order it from the website, however it is the same price in-store. Neither of my local Madison, WI Sears had it in stock, nor could they order it in from their warehouse.

I printed off the webpage and got a price match at Best Buy without any hassle. Of course getting price matches is a YMMV situation.

That doesn't include any service plans (program guide updates), right?

It's $179.99 everyday at Costco. I picked one up about 3 weeks ago at the Costco in Orange, CA.

$179.99 is a great price! Don't worry about the hard drive space. You can add an E-SATA hard drive to expand it...

I swung through my local Costco yesterday and didn't see any Tivos. I would have picked it up and returned the other to Best Buy! And I saw some of those SATA HD on sale for around 100 bucks. MUCH better than paying another 400 dollars for the Tivo XL.

Have you personally done this?

From what I read the only HD Tivo that accepts eSata is the original HD drive(not the drive linked above or the HDXL). The one's that came after only accept the proprietary My Book Expander (500GB).
