I'm watching it right now and the faceless guy totally moved his head while Walter was standing over him. He moved right after Walter said "Scalpel please..."
EDIT: Also, did anybody realize that the bomb was on the 47th floor? They love that number, don't they?

Yep, just went back and re-watched it and he does slightly move his head to the right.
The actor playing the Observer is the same one that's been in the previous episodes.
Thought it was a really good episode but what the hell, no new episodes until April? The show just returned from a break 3 weeks ago and now its taking a 2 month break. Oh well.

I believe there is only 8 episodes left this season and FOX probably wants Fringe to last into May sweeps. They really have no choice to do another hiatus. There just isn't enough episodes left.

That's what I got out of it, that Walter actually typed it. I still don't quite understand what the whole manuscript was about though.
And yes, the Observer was at the newstand in a hat.

Really great episode. And yeah it was one of the easiest observer sightings, most of the time he is in the background in one scene and this time he jumped in front of the screen.
Was anyone surprised how friendly the massive dynamic redhead was? It was like a mother talking to her sister in the last episode. In the first episodes it looked like MD was really evil and it seems they changed their mind in the latest episodes.

The show manages to overcome it's incredulous leaps of logic and still be solidly entertaining. I just hope the long break doesn't result in terrible ratings when it resumes.

I know you guys follow the Observer sightings but has anyone figured out the Symbols they show before going to commercials?

Yeah I fear the long break will destroy this show. There is so much going on but will most people care in 4 months. Have they not learned anything from shows like Lost?

I asked about that after the Pilot. At the end they showed that one of those symbols was on one of the door key pads at MD. I'm sure they're going to touch on that at some point.

Re: Fringe -- "Ability" -- 2/10/09
I'm surprised no one picked up on the major revelation last night -- I think they pretty much gave away the whole basis for this show.
According to that manuscript (which Walter clearly wrote) it appears that a porthole between our world and another world in an alternate universe has been discovered (for anyone reading my Lost posts-- I suspect a wormhole!). Battle has been joined as only one world can survive. People (like Olivia) are being groomed from childhood to become soldiers in this battle (using that drug). The fact she passed the test (and proved her psychic ability) shows that she is ready to do battle. And I think that Massive Dynamics is the primary organization coordinating this battle.
In past episodes we saw people with advanced weapons and I suspect these were operatives from the alternate universe. The Observer is probably one of them too.
This also explains why Walter is behind so many inventions and why he ended up in an asylum. He was a genius given the task of finding technical means to improve our abilities to fight this battle and he probably wasn't ready to assume this responsibility.
