Definitive Friday The 13th Set?

Saw a thread a while back about a definitive Halloween set where you guys posted what you thought were the best versions of each of the Halloween dvd's out there.

I'm basically looking for versions I can import that have features not found on any of the R1 releases.

My set currently consists of
Friday the 13th - Widescreen Collection
Friday The 13th Uncut - Deluxe Edition with Lenticular slipcover
Friday the 13th Part 2 - Widescreen Collection
Friday the 13th Part 3 - Widescreen Collection
Friday the 13th Part 3 3-D - Deluxe Edition with Lenticular Slipcover
Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter - Widescreen Collection
Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning - Widescreen Collection
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives - Widescreen Collection
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood - Widescreen Collection
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
Jason Goes To Hell - New Line Theatrical and Unrated Flipper
Jason X - New Line Platinum Series
Freddy VS Jason - New Line Platinum Series 2 Disc
From Crystal Lake to Manhattan - Ultimate Edition DVD Collection
His Name Was Jason - Splatter Edition with Slipcover
Boogeymen: The Killer Compilation
also have 1-X on VHS

Some of my wants
Friday The 13th - I Love The 80's Edition with Slipcover
Friday the 13th - 2008 DVD Release with Lenticular Slipcover
Friday The 13th Uncut - Deluxe Edition Blu Ray
Friday The 13th Part 2 - I Love the 80's Edition with Slipcover
Friday The 13th Part 2 - Deluxe Edition with Lenticular Slipcover
Jason X - R2 Spain Release with entire screw death scene
Betsy Palmer: A Scream Queen Legend DVD

I'll post some pics of my collection later today.

Actually, if it belongs somewhere other than it is, probably the International forum, since he's asking what discs other people have from other regions, not about an American official box set.

Re: Definitive Friday The 13th Set?

Actually, I was looking for something more along the lines of this

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-talk/54...ollection.html

It's a thread here where everyone gives their opinions on which Halloween releases they thought to be superior for each of the Halloween films.

Didn't think it belonged in the New Friday Box Set in the Works because it really has nothing to do with that.

Can anyone confirm that the Spain R2 of Jason X really has the extended screw death? I've only seen it mentioned on dvdaf.

That's the only place I've seen it mentioned as well. I always thought that it was weird that Spain only got this cut.

Why the hell would you want the I Love the 80s versions? They are exactly the same with a stupid looking slipcover that says I LOVE THE 80S on it. Or the lenticular cover one? Again the same thing, with a lenticular cover.

Yes, the Spanish DVD does have the uncut screw death from what I've read, but note that it's only an extra turn or two and not much more than that. It's not much of a cut by any means. As for the series on DVD, aside from the bonus features on the UK BD of part 3 there really aren't any better editions than those available here. It sounds like you just want to own every released edition of the films regardless of bonus features.

I agree with you about the I Love the 80s versions, but the 2008 ones with the lenticular covers are actually new releases altogether, with new cuts and new extras.

^ No, I think the lenticular cover version he was referring to was the one Paramount released last year that had Jason's mask (inexplicably) on the front.

Re: Definitive Friday The 13th Set?

The new deluxe releases have new features, and are new transfers. They put Jason on the front of the first one. I guess he is iconic enough that he sells more than his Mom.

Out of curiosity, why the push to have one thread, even if it's title is for something different? Is there any harm in a box set thread, a new deluxe series thread, etc? It seems to me that the older threads will sink away, and new titles make the contents more obvious.
