FOX Sound Quality

Has the sound quality for Fox shows been off lately or is it just my Comcast service? The last few episodes of 24 were off, then this week i noticed House and Lie to Me were suffering as well. Just wondering if anybody else was experiencing this or its just my rotten luck.

Re: FOX Sound Quality

My FOX sound has been really soft. I have to turn up the volume almost all the way, to get something "normal". I have Charter.

Re: FOX Sound Quality

I've been having that problem with NBC on my Time-Warner cable, I have to double the volume when I watch an NBC show, and then I forget when I change the channel, and the sound is blasting.

I wonder if it has something to do with the preparations for the digital changeover?

Same here. I have that issue with both Fox and Fox News. Annoying.

Re: FOX Sound Quality

I always thought it was because they air in 5.1, and not in Stereo anymore.

I always have trouble hearing the dialogue in 24. It's about the only show that I just can't hear right on my system. Same goes for the 24 DVDs.

Yeah, I have the same issue when watching 24. I have to turn the volume up on all Fox shows, but I don't have the same issues as when I watch 24.

Re: FOX Sound Quality

I get Fox digital OTA and always have to turn the sound up on the DTV channel, but not on their analog channel. I just assumed that was part of digital broadcasting, although not all the channels do it that way. My Sony TV goes up to 60 of whatever units they are using. On normal analog channels, I leave it at about 12, for fox digital, it has to be about 25. When I play a dvd, I always have to crank it up to about 30.

I think this is the reason. I watch TV digital OTA with the built in speakers and 24 and Lost are the worst. The commercials still come in loud and clear. I use the mute button a lot more now. Which means I usually miss when the show comes back on, increasing my viewing pleasure due to the commercials

I have the same problem with DVD's with 5.1 sound. The dialog is muffled and the action scenes are too loud.
