Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion

I thought there was already a thread for this, but I guess not. Must've been just in some E3 or console thread.

Anyway, here's a new trailer for it. Looks promising.

Looks pretty cool. I never was into M:UA or the X-men Legends games as much as I had hoped or thought I would be based on how much I've enjoyed previous similar action rpg-lite titles like Baldurs Gate: DA and Champions of Norrath. Probably a rental and maybe a $20 purchase for me.

The trailer looks neat, but I had a lot of trouble getting into the first one and haven't finished it. The game play was kind of tedious and repetitive, which is a shame since I love the characters and Marvel.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion

Can't wait! My sons and I have played through the first one twice so we're looking forward to this new one. What struck me about the first one was how much I recognized the characters and settings even though I hadn't read comics since the early 80s. The sequel looks like it's based on the Civil War storyline which I haven't read so it should be interesting.

We were playing the first one 4-player style and I kept dozing off in the middle of the game.

I like the fact that they're going with the Civil War storyline in this one. Day 1 pick up for me.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion

I really liked X-Men Legends 1. Played the crap out of it. Co-oped through it multiple times and whatnot.

XML2 was good, but not great. It was a cool idea to add all the extra powers, but it ended up being annoying IMO.

MU:A Was better than XML2, but I just found myself bored with it. Been there done that. This game will have to have some major reworkings/new additions for me to buy it.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion

These games do get pretty repetitive after awhile, but I haven't played any of them in some time, and my wife is absolutely obsessed with them, so I'll probably be picking it up on day one.

I'm actually kind of pissed at the first one because it never gave me the achievement for answering all the trivia questions. It gave it to my wife when we were in co-op, even though I'm the one that answered them all (and didn't have to look them up because I'm a freaking dork).

Looks great...even though there wasn't much to it, I had a blast playing the first one. Definitely getting this.

Why do the graphics look worse than in the first game? Unless the game gets 10s across the board, I'm not going to bother with it.

They look better to me. Better effects and more detailed character models.

Should be a whole lot of fun. I'm a sucker for brawlers, even if they do get repetitive. The Civil War storyline should be awesome. I wonder if they'll do two stories (pro-registration, anti-registration) and then have the alternate stories link up.

I think they'll do that. They'll have the separate storylines, with some common ones between the two factions and multiple endings depending on the side you took and the accomplished goals.

Looks fantastic. I've been a sucker for this series since the first X-Men Legends. Day one purchase for me as well.

I love these superhero action-RPG games. X-Men Legends I and II, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, even Justice League Heroes. Picking this up when it comes out.

Pretty decent trailer. I liked the first one a lot. I'll be keeping an eye out for this. One odd thing I noticed was no villains in the trailer. Weird.

I don't think we are going to see many bad guys in the game because this is based on the Civil War storyline which were mostly hero vs hero battles.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion

The official site is up and they are revealing the characters slowly.

http://marvelultimatealliance.marvel.com/#/Home/

There are conflicting report on when the game is going to be released. According to Gamestop is September 1 2009 but Amazon.com has a 9/30/09 listing.

http://www.gamestop.com/browse/searc...20ALliance%202

http://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Ultimat...2750454&sr=1-7

And they have taken the Fusion out of the title officially. The game is now simply Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

Those are probably just each website's policy when the only release date is a month.
