You can create a pretty sweet B-movie and monster 6-pack with The Host, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Evil Dead II, Heathers and District B13 for $66. I don't know if I'll pull the trigger since they'd almost all just be upgrades for me... but at the very least I'll enjoy the purchase in my hypothetical daydream.

With the prices jacked up for the sale you really need to get 10 titles for the 50% off for it to be worth anything.

I'm noticing that Weinstein titles (The Mist, Lucky Number Slevin, Halloween, Planet Terror/Death Proof, etc.) go on sale early and often. Unfortunately, I already bought the ones I wanted. Otherwise, this sale would've saved me a lot of money. I also picked up Vicky Cristina Barcelona last week (also Weinstein); I expect that to be included in a sale soon.

I'm tempted to replace a few of these like 1408, Awake, and Slevin with other titles like The Signal, To Kill A King, and Heathers, though.

(I can't find any reviews of Awake, I know that 1408 isn't liked much but I want to see it, and I'm not sure how much I'll like Slevin.)

Gee, thanks, LOL! I already owned a LOT of the other stuff, and wouldn't consider any title over 24.49. I don't want to upgrade too much (I have the SD Death Proof, Planet Terror, and Halloween, but not the rest). In retrospect, I wish I had upgraded X-Files. I thought it was the the recent film. I just realized now it is the original.

I thought about getting Awake, just cuz Jessica Alba in HD is never a bad thing, but it just wasn't that good of a movie IMO. Dodgeball is a great movie, but I don't want to pay $12 for a film I already own (except Planet Terror)

Personally, I think Slevin is a great film, worth owning. Awake is an OK film, but not worth owning. I never saw 1408 myself, but have always wanted to. I've heard enough positive reviews to make up my mind on that one...

Can't believe they have standup in Blu-Ray. Deal is lukewarm considering the titles, but may be good for some. I'll pass though since
1) I spent a fortune in the last week and
2) I don't even own a Blu-Ray player yet (I have about 20 titles though)

Since I have almost none of the titles in the sale, I ended up Ordering 12 titles with the average around $8.80 before tax. Just concentrated on titles below $21.00.

Now this is only my opinion: Awake is one of the best thriller in 2007. It's best if you know nothing about the movie before you see it because there are some twists and turns, much like a Hitchcock movie. Critics pretty much bashed the movie, although a few, like Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper (both from the Chicago Sun-Times), liked the movie. It's very underrated because it didn't make that much money in the box office but I hope a lot of more people see it. Rating: 8/10

1408 is also a great psychological thriller. Critics liked this movie. It's pretty good and it messed my brain up quite a bit. 8/10

Slevin is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Nothing to say but how great it was. 10/10

Again. You can ignore my opinion.

This sale works out great for me! I have been waiting for a deal on the four Apes sequels ever since I was able to pick up the original from CH on their last BOGO sale....I didn't want the funky packaging of the box set and wanted to get them in their separate cases, now finally I can grab these along with some others I have been waiting for a sale on (Dodgeball, Grindhouses, etc.)!
