Watched it and thought it was a good episode. The opening was awesome, "maybe he fell asleep?"...
Nice sort of close to the John Scott story line. He's still preserved so who knows?

I watched it and enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular, however.

Re: Fringe -- "The Transformation" -- 2/3/09

I've only watched the opening so far, but DAMN. Say what you want about the show (I think it's just okay) the openings have all been so good. I look forward to watching them every week. The episodes mostly go downhill from there, but the openings always make me go "What? What?! What the hell?!" (in a good way).

EDIT: Yeah, it was a bland episode. I spaced out about 5 minutes after the opening...

So is this tank thing going to be the "Holodeck" for this show? Whenever they need answers or something she gets in the tanks and gets em from John. Or is it an excuse for them to show her half naked?

Re: Fringe -- "The Transformation" -- 2/3/09

I think there is just too much stuff to watch right now and everyone's Tivo's, DVR's and PVR's are all backed up. Hence alot of these threads are getting little action except Lost, 24 and a few other shows.

I'm still watching and still enjoying it, but hey, I'm an Abrams fan and I'm an X-Files fanatic, so this is like X-Files 2.0 for me.

Anti-climatic ending as far as the action, but it hit home on the emotional level. Decent episode and as mentioned, the opening...WOW.

Good stuff!
It's not every day you see a spiny man/monster transformation and a commercial airliner crash, all in a show's first five minutes...

As leacha mentioned earlier, I kind of hope the deprivation tank/John Scott bit isn't going to become a regular thing. That seems like a lazy writer technique more than a compelling narrative tool. This ep seemed to offer some level of closure to that element, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Fringe -- "The Transformation" -- 2/3/09

I really liked it. There were some great tense moments there especially during the FBI sting.
Hopefully there won't be much more of the tank. Walter did say her mind had almost purged all of John Scott, so maybe that was the last of it?

Also, I noticed the director of this ep was Brad Anderson. Is that "Session 9" Brad Anderson?

Re: Fringe -- "The Transformation" -- 2/3/09

I love this show... and I've been allowing for the crazy shit I've seen so far; but "Sonic The Were-hedgehog" was a bit much. Still a decent ep, but that was just a tad bit too crazy.

But still, I liked that Olivia knows the truth about John's body and MD.

I watched last night, thought it was pretty good.

I forget exactly how he put it, but Walter said, "Tissues are not going to be enough."

Re: Fringe -- "The Transformation" -- 2/3/09

I agree I don't want to see that tank ever again. I thought using it 2 times already was enough. Hopefully with the John Scott 'revalation' that will be the end of it.

That said, I lurves me some "Fringe." I game alot and am busy on weeknights and watch all my shows on DVR on the weekends but Fringe (and Lost) I try to watch that night.

Re: Fringe -- "The Transformation" -- 2/3/09

I was kind of annoyed with some aspects of it. Like Hicks is feeding Dunham what to say until the dude mentions the antidote took forever to create and was extremely complex... Walter is like "uh-oh" and suddenly Hicks starts transforming again? It was like the effect of Walter's cure instantly wore off as soon as he heard that? Come on...

I'm still finding the show enjoyable .... it's very much "X-Files Light" most of the time.

I liked it not amazing but good. The Observer was apparently on the sidelines of the soccer field but I missed him.

Shit. I just watched the previous ep about the gooey brains and for some reason now I think Olivia's sister is up to something since there seems to be something brewing with her and Peter.

Pa-rah-noy-ya will de-stroy-yahhh.

Yes, it was. He also directed an earlier episode, In Which We Meet Mr. Jones.

I thought it was ridiculously clear that Walter said she might be able to see him for a few seconds, maybe five minutes, but after that, he'd be gone forever.

Do people really not watch the whole episodes? In this show, it's a necessity.

I wonder the same thing sometimes ;o), but knowing this show we may see Scott again sometime in the future, especially since MD is keeping him "alive". I thought exactly what you did though that when he faded away that was the "end" of that connection with Olivia (which Walter said would happen).

As far as the tank goes its only been used 2-3 times, which I dont considere a lot. The tank was only used to get to Scotts memories, so at least for now we can probably consider this part of the show dead for now.

I think right now this show has a steady viewing audience that is watching the show, some may not be up to speed though as it did get a bump from the AI lead in. Hopefully people who are new to the show will catch up by watching the earlier epidoes which will factor into the remaining part of the season (at least it looks that way).

I missed the "observer" in this episode, but thought it could of been him flying out of the plain right before it crashed. I wasnt sure what it was that flew out, seemed like a body to me.

These past few episodes have been "filler", but it looks like next week we bring back the storyline from earlier in the saeson (the pattern). Hopefully people wont be lost when they do this.

My better half is hooked on this show and gets VERY emotional during the suspense scenes. She is not a Sci-Fi fan or suspense\thriller, but this show has managed to blend everything just right to suck her in. For me, I am a fan of the genre, so liking this show doesnt take much. I have found not overthinking the science of the show makes it much more enjoyable.

Loving this show a whole lot. Has it been renewed for a second season? How many more episodes are we getting?

This was episode 13. There is 9 more to go.

An official renewal won't be announced until May.
