Some people (like me) got a giftcard that expires 1/31/2009. Some got a giftcard with no expiration date. Crap shoot which one you got. Just a heads up. If yours expires it will say so on the front, right at the bottom.
If you used it already, what did you buy? :D I'm in between a Lego set and a video game.

Go buy a pink 360 controller if you can find it! They're clearanced for $25... Mass Effect and Orange Box are also $9.98.
On another note someone bought the last 360 bundle right in front of me the day this went on sale at TRU. That person also happened to be my step son's bus driver!! Damn you evil bus driver!!!!

Luckily mine has no expiration because I can't seem to find anything to buy. I just want to pick up a PSN card but TRU doesn't stock them for some odd reason.

$10 for Mass Effect is a steal. I may have to pick that up.

I got one that expired, so I went ahead and bought MS points. Bought Rock Band tracks with the points.

You may want to wait till the beginning of next month as they're releasing a 2 disc version. It includes the DLC.
2- Disc set to include:
Disc 1- Mass Effect video game
Disc 2- Documentary, Game Trailers, Music, Design Galleries & Bring Down the Sky

How much is that going to cost, though? Can't go wrong for 10 bucks...

$20, according to Gamestop.com.
"Bring Down the Sky" is the DLC that costs $5. So it's not that much more for the 2nd disc, assuming your TRU has anything in stock.

I was hoping for a PSN card purchase, but I might just have to go for some MS points now. Does anyone know if we can buy a $25 gift certificate with the card?

I got one that expired, so I went ahead and bought MS points. Bought Rock Band tracks with the points. Were you charged tax on those points? I'm trying to order online right now since the cost of shipping is equivalent to the cost of me taking the subway to the store, but they're charging tax for it.
Which is crazy.

I got a $25 iTunes card so I can buy iPod Touch games :D Didn't even know they had those.
No tax on iTunes card but they charge tax on MS points :hscratch: (I think all TRUs charge tax on MS pts).

Well the biggest bummer I just discovered is that they DID give me a promotional card that does have an expiration date. Back at the end of December. So mine expired a month ago.

And this was from the same TRU deal?! Damn :(

I just spoke to their Customer Service on the phone and apparently I am incompetent and out of luck. According to them, they have no responsibility to give me the correct card in the first place despite what the ad says.

I'd ask for a supervisor. If the ad said a card expiring on January, they HAVE to give you a card expiring on January. Now how do you prove that wasn't a card you bought separately is another story.

I already spoke to the Supervisor. And the card number is also on the receipt so that's easy to show. But what it boils down to is that I should have been aware and so ultimately it's my fault and there's nothing they can do.
I would go back to the original store and ask them. But that's in Atlanta, and I'm back in NYC now. Alas.
