I really like when they show historical figures expressing the features that they are describing as being dishonest.

Re: Lie to Me (Tim Roth) -- "Moral Waiver" -- 1/28/09

The scene where the female soldier while on valium was difficult to watch. It seemed like the writer had just watched A Few Good Men and felt inspired.

I just find the execution lacking. There's only three things that are keeping me hanging on:
  • Kelli Williams keeping it light
  • The extreme honesty of Eli which adds some humor
  • The backstory of Tim Roth's character as implied at the end of the episode

I found the Ria Torres character (played by Monica Raymund) acting like a facial recognition savant at the end of the episode really annoying.

At first I thought he was Ethan Embry...and then I IMDBed the episode and found Adam Monroe. Was bugging me the entire time.

I like this show. I'm surprised they are using celebrity pictures and basically calling them liars.

Looks like next week there is conflict as LOST, Life and Lie to Me are on at the same time.
I'll have to move this to the secondary receiver.

Well, liars at the moment of lying. We ALL lie, we do it everyday. What I'm concerned about is that correct or not, the 'tells' this show highlights may be seen as infallible by the public and people will project that onto others' credibility.

That said, I enjoyed the episode, and it did voice the unpopular fact that, yes, women do lie about rape. Not often, but some do. I DID think that they route they were going with the "well, he didn't rape HER, but he raped SOMEBODY" was that Sark-actor's character raped a male soldier, and that soldier was obviously too ashamed to come forward.
