I just got a Toshiba Sd-6109C and was wondering if anybody has any reccomendations for speakers for it. I would like to get a 5 speaker package, and keep the price reasonably low. Any suggestions?

Here's what I got for my 6109:

The JBL SCS-125 system, for $305 shipped, includes 5 cube speakers (50W) and a 75W sub.

Thanks for the advice all! Much appreciated. I am trying to stay uner $200, but I might not be able to. How satisfied are you with your 6109, anyway?

nary a complaint here on the 6109c. I went with a little known speaker company called Phase technology for the 5 and a Velodyne CT100 sub and couldn't be happier.

I was actually trying to keep the price under about $250, if that's at all possible, but still keep some quality. Any suggestions?

I suggest spending more.

How about buying 2 or 3 speakers, and getting the others later?

For $250 you'll have to go ghetto. Just roll up here to NYC and buy them out of the van that comes by here every half hour. I'll take care of you. 5.1 for $200. Ask for me.

I bought the Sony SAVE-505 set originally for my 6109. 4 (very!) small bookshelfs, and a centre and a sub. You should be able to get that for under $200. For the price, they're excellent, but I've been slowly u/ging my set.

Yeah, it looks like I am going to have to up my budget for this.

The reviews on this one are decent at best. I may just have to piece the set together.
If i'm in NYC, i'll look for ya Snow

So for those of you who have the 6109, what are your major complaints/praises? A friend of mine has one and he loves it, but some people have worse reviews.
