Even though we are in the midst of a worsening recession, it seems like there has been a major cold spell in hot deals for the past month or so. Anyone else notice this?

Yep.
We used to be able get codes/coupons for Domino's or Papa John's pizzas, B1G1F; now they're all bundle deals or even worse, "Free 2 liter!"
With one exception: I just got a 24Tuesday B1G1F email from Domino's. Still, they are much harder to find.

Well, I missed the deal on membership....and if there's one thing it's hard to make myself do, it's pay more for something when I Know I missed a sale.
Maybe any retailer who has survived to this point, after having to have pretty good deals in the Christmas season, is now tightening their belt in order to continue surviving.
