More US TV!!

Hey, new member here

I am from the UK but I only seem to watch US TV, I much prefer sitcoms to soaps.

Anyway. I am running out of shows to watch, not to mention some seasons coming to an end. So I am looking for a few suggestions, a couple of new shows to start watching.

Here is a list of the shows I watch, to give you an idea of my 'taste'

Two and a Half Men
Heroes
Weeds
The Big Bang Theory
Scrubs
My Name is Earl
Dexter
Reaper

If anyone could suggest a couple I would really appreciate it.

I have heard great things about Rome, there was another but I always forget the name.

Thanks for reading

How I met your mother. But it pays off better if you start at season one (lot of inside jokes).

Definitely How I Met Your Mother seems to be your taste.

Arrested Development is a must watch.

Lost would be my first choice for you based on the other stuff you like.

Pushing Daisies & Entourage also seems like you would enjoy.

Friday Night Lights!
Don't let the fact that it's about American Football scare you because it's really not all about football.

I second LOST and How I Met Your Mother.. and yes, you must watch both from the very beginning.

No mention of the Office yet? Could be fun to compare the UK and US version

Lost (One of the best shows ever)

The Office (Even though the first episode is a copy of the UK one, it does branch off very quickly and become two very different shows

battlestar galactica

Sopranos

Pushing Daisies (amazing show)

Having just finished the first season myself, I definitely second this recommendation.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Since you like Heroes I suggest going back and watching 4400.
Battlestar Galactica (New Version)
Others like Pushing Daisies and How I met Your Mother have been mentioned.

Agree with some picks, added a few others:
How I Met Your Mother (Takes a few episodes to get going but it is a worthwhile investment)
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
House
Lost
Damages

24 (Season 1, 5)
Psych

Re: More US TV!!

I'm from the UK aswell and watch alot more US than UK TV. Do you have SKY? Kinda helps if you do.

I would say these:
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (very unPC but brilliant!)
Life (great cop drama)
Generation Kill
Damages (season 2 starts on BBC next month)
30 Rock (one of the best shows ever put on screen)
Arrested Development (I don't even want to think how many times I have watched the boxsets)
Burn Notice

There is alot more but those are like the basics.

Re: More US TV!!

Wow, thanks for all the replies guys.

I just checked youtube to get a rough background on each show and they all look great!

I Think I am going to start with either the Sopranos or How I met your Mother.

Agreed. It's the funniest show on TV right now, IMHO.
